We don't really have one of these yet, so figured we could use this as a place to discuss potential free agent acquisitions and what we would like to look for them to bring in.
If any of you guys are interested, heres a good place to do some research.

Terez is trusted because he actually has team sources. He's also trusted because he's cautious and rarely peddles predictions beyond immediate information.
Terez doesn't even do the same thing these guys do - it apples and oranges. [Reply]
OL market isn’t only one booming. A lot of interest in LBs who can cover. Broncos LB Brandon Marshall, who will have his option declined soon, has recieved interest from 5 teams including 2 AFC playoff teams, per source, but keep a close eye on the Cardinals here.

That’s one helluva prediction lol. He had sources on the Earl Thomas deal. Told me to get excited around the week he got hurt. Then it came out KC was getting him before he got hurt. He is what he is. I’m not saying he’s Adam Schefter. But continue to be a twat about it [Reply]

We have an offensive genius. Belichick doesn't pay offensive players, either. [Reply]

And the worst part of it is that the Pats are going to get a comp pick.
The term “armchair GM” should never have a negative connotation when there are fucking morons that do shit like this all the time in the league.

The #Lions are closing in on a deal with former #Seahawks CB Justin Coleman that will make him the NFL's highest-paid nickel, source said. Big addition for Matt Patricia's defense.

He doesn’t have to when he has Brady. He can field a solid defense while knowing Brady will be Brady. All of our eggs are in the offense basket. While I agree that always handing out big contracts is a bad move, sometimes you have to. Because of Pat we won’t have to shell out huge contracts on offense (outside of his obviously). We just can’t take the Patriots strategy on defense unless we have a coach on defense capable of fielding at least a middle of the pack unit with average guys. [Reply]

We should let Chris Jones walk.
Okay, settle down, hear me out. Watching the Raiders shell out huge money to Trent Brown and guaranteeing the Pats get ANOTHER third round comp pick got me thinking...
Spoiler!
The secret to the NFL is obviously to have the franchise QB. But there's a sneaky second level to the equation - and it's comp picks. Let's say the Chiefs draft Jerry Tillery. You have a REALLY similar player in terms of production and physical ability. Just as Chris Jones is getting ready to hit the market, so too is Mahomes getting ready for his mega deal.
Let Jones walk. Let someone else pay $100M for a defensive lineman. Stay away from any big free agents in 2020, and you'll be guaranteeing yourself more day 2 picks, which SHOULD be starters for your team. We have to start keeping cost down around the rest of the team in order to make sure we can surround Mahomes with enough talent to keep making SB runs.
The best way to do that is make sure you are flush with day 1 and 2 draft picks.
I love Jones. He's awesome. But I think at some point you have to actually look at the Patriots and emulate their strategy. That means staying away from huge contracts other than QB. And HOPEFULLY the Chiefs figure out how to back-door pay Mahomes in some way to keep his actual cap number lower. Cough cough... give dad a consulting job for $5M a year...
That's pretty much what John Dorsey wanted to do. He was taught that philosophy in Green Bay by Ted Thompson. He cut Maclin and Charles and didn't want to give Houston and Berry huge contracts. He all but refused to give out the big contracts until Hunt got involved. We will probably never know why Hunt got involved. My money is on Reid getting mad about losing players he likes and going to Hunt. [Reply]
