Nzoner's Game Room>So it’s really just the Steelers [or Bills] right?
RunKC 09:41 PM 09-28-2020
I mean goddamn this conference seems wrapped up doesn’t it? Not trying to jinx us but it really seems like injuries are our biggest opponent at this point.

The Ravens are fucking frauds. They’re a warm up for us. We literally made these guys look like the JV squad the last 2 meetings.

And sure the Bills and Titans may make us work for the win, but in all honesty we have to play pretty goddamn shitty to lose to those guys.

In order to have any shot at beating us you need 3 things:

1. Elite pass rush
2. Top 10 QB capable of making critical plays
3. Overall talented roster

Steelers are the only team in the AFC that has those 3 things, and even them it’s not like they’re some serious threat like the Patriots a couple years back, but they seem like the best of the rest.

I think at this point it would be disappointing for this team to not get to the SB 3 straight times.

We’re just that good, and we keep drafting well and get better and better.

The Chiefs did not luck out. They went out of their way, giving up two 1sts and a 3rd pick to draft Mahomes. They took a chance knowing full well this guy had special potential. Luck is Tom Brady or Russell Wilson. Two average QBs who overachieved in the NFL. Mahomes was already elite in college.

Also, the Chiefs were a playoff team before Mahomes and by some estimates even considered as a SB contender.
Don't talk about our team as if it's some scrubby franchise you weasel. We are a historic winning franchise.

lets face the Steelers lucked out and drafted Bradshaw and Big Ben, if not for that it would of been another 50 yrs before you'd win a Super Bowl. Without them the Steelers are way below average. Big Ben is lucky he has a ring

Give Mahomes those defenses and offensive talent and he goes 19-0 every year

Watched the highlights from the Steelers-Ravens game.

The Steelers just don't look that good. Their offense has some pretty nice weapons, but they aren't that efficient against a defense that we already know isn't that great. And Big Ben is still showing some issues with his intermediate throws down the middle.

Even their defense didn't look that special to me. Yeah, they got a couple guys that can really play like Watt and Minkah, but really they weren't that impressive against the Ravens.

If only our head coach would cheat by trying to trip players and our QB (who we were lucky to draft, btw) would hire security guards to lure tiny drunk women into night club bathrooms so he could rape them would we ever be such a proud and historic franchise as the all mighty stoolers. Get fuckt, worm.

Average performance of the Steelers opponents, minus their games against the Steelers.

Giants: 17.6 points scored (per game...), 24.7 points allowed; Steelers score: 16-26 (I call that slightly above average - within 3 points)

Broncos: 21.0 points scored, 26.1 points allowed; Steelers score: 21-26 (average)

Texans: 24.1 points scored, 30.7 points allowed; Steelers score: 21-28 (slightly above average)

Eagles: 22.4 points scored, 23.8 points allowed; Steelers score: 29-38 (above average def/dominant off)

Browns: 28.4 points scored, 28.4 points allowed; Steelers score: 7-38 (dominant def/above average off - 3 to 7 points)

Titans: 30.6 points for, 26.1 points allowed; Steelers score: 24-27 (above average def/slightly above average def)

Ravens: 29.8 points scored, 17.3 points allowed; Steelers score: 24-28 (above average off/dominant def)

So what I see is nearly exactly what I thought talking about the Steelers yesterday: they are a slightly above average to average squad, with one or two dominant performances on each side of the ball thrown in, primarily against division rivals.

What I definitely do not see is a consistently dominant team. Or a scary team. Even if they do manage to get the bye thanks to their schedule.
Titans look to be the best of those teams. Thanks for backing me up here

The Titans showed everyone how to beat "mvp" lamar jackson in the playoffs. Pitt just adapted the tits gameplan.
Titans should have beat pitt, it should have been the championship caliber comeback we all expected. Only a championship caliber team makes that a game (too bad gostkowski sucks)
The bengals game was a trap game with the tits coming off that emotional comeback

The chefs lucked out last year with the Titans doing all the dirty work in the playoffs, chefs got to play the texans (perennial losers) and a tired titans team who were playing 4 straight road games

The problem is the Steelers schedule.

They will probably have some issues with the Browns (twice), Ravens, and maybe the Colts.

We can't rule out them losing to a team they "shouldn't" lose to. The 15-1 Packers lost to the 5-11 Chiefs. The Bengals just beat the Titans, the Vikings just beat the Packers. Especially when the Steelers have been winning every one score game they've been in. That isn't particularly sustainable. One game they're gonna have some bounces not go their way. Hell, the Ravens turned the ball over numerous times and STILL almost won.

Championship teams get dominated by the Bengals, too. :-)

Your team couldn’t sack Joe Burrow, who has been getting hit at historic rates so far.

No team without a pass rush ever goes the distance. You are totally fucked.

Joe Burrow was sacked 28 times in the first 7 games, or 4 sacks per game.

Titans? ZERO. ZILCH. NADA.

:-)

Championship team.

Titans defense is hilariously bad

Can't rush the passer, not great against the run, weak secondary. Only reason it's not the worst in the league is because they're well coached.

Which is better in EVERY AREA than last year.
Don't forget that Mahomes had over 400 yards, 5 TDs, and 0 Ints. That is only the 13th time in NFL history that has ever happened.
