Nzoner's Game Room>Cast Iron Skillets. You dig them?
Fritz88 12:54 PM 11-08-2011

What's the best way to cook a burger at home, on a gas stove?

I heard that Cast Iron Skillets are the way to go.

Would you agree? Have you tried burgers on them?

Rep. I picked one up.

Also, your link won't blow out the page if you kill the referrer code.

My wife just got the 12" Lodge the other day at Walmart of all places for $20. That seemed cheap to me.

It's a good deal. Don't forget you have to get the one on amazon shipped which adds costs. They had those at Bed Bath and Beyond last Spring for $25.

Not if you do free shipping or are a Prime member.

Prime member here and I'd have it no other way. Seems we order something every few weeks off Amazon and it can be a purchase under $5 and it's still free shipping and to my door in 2 days. Love it.

I thought they were doing away with that as amazon was losing money?

I use my daughter's account for free shipping 'cause she's in college.

I've used Prime before but I thought it was limited to a time period. Anyway, I read amazon was losing money on it.

I am reading now that Prime requires an annual fee? Is that so.

So it really isn't free then is it?

never has been free. Just free shipping on shit you buy from amazon, plus all kinds of other perks.

It has cost money for many years. If you've never been a prime member, they will give you like a 1-month trial.

It's never been free. It was $79.99 a year, now $99 a year. It's worth it so we can order stuff whenever we want with free shipping (no matter the size of the order) and it arrives in 2 days instead of a week. Plus now you can stream whole albums and watch TV/Movies as well.

That sounds about right. I had it free for a bit as I recall, but haven't ordered in a long time.

I need Red Rooster to clean my copper pans but can't bring myself to order it there. Yet, no one around here carries it.

Yeah, I was reading that in that article I linked. Never knew that before. We use Netflix.

Well it doesn't have even close to everything like Netflix, but it has plenty of stuff we've never seen including multiple seasons of many TV show dramas, plus I can stream many albums over my stereo as well. I'd pay for it just for the shipping as it saves us a lot since we order from them quite a bit.
