Washington DC and The Holy Land>I Am A Libertarian Fiscal Conservative. Who Should I vote For?
Titty Meat 08:00 PM 07-20-2019
A spin off of I'm a white guy thread.

I looked at who's running in the Libertarian Party. Holy shit what a fucking joke.

The Democrats hate people like me.

I like some things Trump has done but feel like he doesnt care about being fiscally conservative. He has had the best foreign policy out of any president in my lifetime.

I think I am one of the few I'd not only millenial that post here (age 34) it scares the fuck out of me the slop my generation supports and votes for. A 6 or 7 majority that favors gun rights, privacy, states rights is all I have in common with those who post on here.

I think after this discussion I am begrudgingly leaning Trump unless Amash runs.

You have enough stones to get where you want to be.

Well I know that. I was seeking for your basis for it.

I really can't see the military as guaranteeing the Constitution either. The military protects the country from invasion and attacks—preserving our lives the first responsibility of govt.

I'd say its up to all of us to guarantee our Constitution. The SC plays a role in interpreting, and the executive branch enforces it—or should be. You can always have an enemy within, who keeps eroding the document or outright tossing it out. Will the military do something about that? I dunno.

That's why I phrased it two ways. The other being due to our humanity and that such rights precede any govt.

I think it's a popular opinion on the right that the military does these things and it's pounded into our heads ad nauseum by politicians, MIC and MSM too. Especially Fox. I think it's misguided because it suggests we need our military everywhere. Ideas are powerful—more powerful than bullets.

If Trump wins re-election he likely gets two more picks. I would need to hear Judge Kozinski or Brown to consider him getting my vote.
Yep! Kav is Deep State who covered for Bush.

Goodnight. I really should be going to bed myself, but I'm trying to squeeze a weekend into Sunday night. Trump needs to hurry up and kill the economy so I can have weekends like everybody else :-)

Food Stamps and housing for everybody, that's what I always say :-)

Sure. One or both of the parties may be replaced, but there wonít be a third viable party over any extended period of time.

I don't know what the solution is. But the primary system is broken. It's run by party machines. And it doesn't represent independents. So they're being controlled now by the extremes as more and more people don't feel like either party represents their views. If 42% of Americans are considered independent, then how do you give them a voice in the final 2?

A party’s primary is—by definition—run by the party for the benefit of the party. It’s not governmental. It’s not intended to be run for the benefit of the general population. Its reason for existing at all is to benefit the party.

Perhaps I’m reading too much into your comment, but it seems to me that you might be more comfortable with a system that included preliminary runoff elections that would include candidates and voters from across the spectrum.

That’s a different animal from a party primary.

That’s what the Tories thought too.
