Nzoner's Game Room>2019 Free agency Thread
O.city 03:24 PM 02-05-2019
We don't really have one of these yet, so figured we could use this as a place to discuss potential free agent acquisitions and what we would like to look for them to bring in.

If any of you guys are interested, heres a good place to do some research.

Is Waynes actually good though? Seems like you could just draft someone in the 2nd this year

Good grief NO. That would be stupid.

Swapping first round picks and giving up 1 of 2 2nd round picks?

I would do that

For our first and one of our 2nds this year, i'd do that.

It would cost a lot more than that though so it's not really feasible. I figure to get from 29 to say, 14 you'd have to give a 2nd this year and next years 1st.

For an off-ball linebacker? No. He's not THAT good. You're giving up a potential Chris Jones in that 2nd round pick.

Besides, White is likely going in the top 10. It's going to cost a lot more than that.

I bet he goes top 7. He's a fucking stud. If he's Luke Kuechly 2.0 it would be worth something for the Chiefs to have him.

But that's gonna cost, a fuck ton.

It's not feasible.

It would likely cost their entire draft.

As great as Luke Kuechly is, he's not worth an entire draft. No freaking way.

It would for sure cost both your 2nds and next years 1st. Probably 1 of those 2nds from next year too.

Just can't do it. And I love the player, but it's just not gonna happen.

The only trade ups that I'd be looking at are into the 17-20 range for Ferrell or if they wanted to move up 4-5 picks for someone like Murphy if they think he's worth it.

I don't think they can even get up to 17-20 without next years first.

I'm not willing to do that.

With as many picks as they amassed (and given this fact is light at the top and very deep in DL and DB), I really hope they don't trade up and give up a bunch of picks to do it. There's just not that much separation in these guys.

Packers receive:
» 2018 first-round pick (No. 18) -- Jaire Alexander, CB, Louisville
» 2018 seventh-round pick (No. 248) -- Kendall Donnerson, LB, Southeast Missouri

Seahawks receive:
» 2018 first-round pick (No. 27) -- Rashaad Penny, RB, San Diego State
» 2018 third-round pick (No. 76) -- traded to Pittsburgh
» 2018 sixth-round pick (No. 186) -- Jacob Martin, DE, Temple

this is the closest i could find to a trade up from out position in recent years. That didnt require a first

If they think there's a real blue chip all pro guy in their system, I get it. I don't think i'd do it but i'd grit my teeth a understand it.

I'm just not sure how much trading up or even down works out for teams. Up for a QB I get, but anything else? Meh.

Yeah, it's weird because it cost the Saints a first to go from 27 to 14, but the Seahawks didn't have to pay that much. I'm guessing since the Pack had already gotten an extra first they were ok doing what they did.

You really think it's going to cost a 1st round pick to move up 9 spots?

In 2018....the Bills moved from 21 to 12 for a 5th round pick and Cordy Glenn. Think Glenn was worth a 1st round pick to move 9 spots?
