Mother-in-law spiked a fever and low energy yesterday.

She got tested this afternoon and should have results Wednesday morning. Our family visited her yesterday morning (all outdoors social distancing)….but still leaves us a bit nervous.

We shall see...

By far one of the lower Mondays in months. But Wednesday will spike again I am sure.

Hope all goes well with her. Is she in fairly good health otherwise?

They heard about conference realignment without Cali and they won’t let that happen.

Well she is about as reasonably healthy as you can hope, right? I bet she will be fine. There's a lot of shit going around right now besides Covid. Allergies are kicking the shit out of a lot of people I know. My Son's allergies are what we think ended up to him getting strep. Good thoughts to you and your family.

Have there been any recent studies that have looked at which pre-existing conditions put a person at most risk for severe covid outcomes?

I believe the #1 and #2 are respiratory illness and diabetes.

Hypertension, T2D, obesity, Vit D deficiency (huge correlation here), type a blood is one that two studies (not yet peer reviewed) have pointed to for higher infection rates, age over 70 obviously

The vitamin d deficiency is a huge one, and fairly easy to fix by getting some sun, diet, and daily Supplementation if needed. A few studies underway to better understand the mechanisms and it Vit d can be either a therapeutic or even preventative. Could also just be coincidence, as correlation doesn’t always imply causation, but my moneys on vitamin d being a critical way for people to avoid the worst outcomes. If you’re not already supplementing I’d at least talk to your doctor and consider it, or get your Vit d levels tested.
