Nzoner's Game Room>What do you collect?
Rain Man 11:55 AM 09-30-2004
I collect:

1. world globes (small collection, because I'm trying to limit myself to one per decade for space purposes)
2. t-shirts from foreign countries, but only if I go to the country
3. refrigerator magnets from any place I travel

I'm starting a fledgling pen collection, too, but only have a few. Pens are cool. I keep threatening to start a salt and pepper shaker collection because they're cheap and there are a lot of fun and creative ones out there, but my wife is wary that they'll take up too much room.

I've also got a decent collection of books.

And a lot of Chiefs stuff.

And a few guns.
Put your collection online on www.dvdprofiler.com helps me keep track of my 300+ dvds.

Let me guess:

The Sands of Aruba Jima (1949) - John Wayne becomes a forerunner of the Frankie Avalon/Annette Funicello beach films.

The Man Who Shot Sean Penn (1962) - John Wayne plays a rough-and-tumble member of the paparazzi.

True Grit (1969) - Perhaps Wayne's second-greatest acting mistake, this was a light comedy where Wayne portrayed a bumbling stay-at-home husband who battled a particularly difficult bathtub ring.

Cahill, United States Auditor (1973) - Wayne portrayed an IRS auditor sent to check the books of a cattle rustler who was terrorizing a small town.

The Shootist (1937) - Wayne's greatest acting mistake, this gay porn classic took place when he was a starving actor at the beginning of his career.

I collect positive rep, too.

Any donations would be greatly appreciated. :-)

I created an Access database, and there is a website I go to that releases a CSV file about once a month that catalogs all the new releases. Right now I only have a couple of tables, but I could do an entire cross-linked database with multiple tables and categories, and put it on a SQL server I take care of at work. That would be cool.

John Wayne was offered the role of Matt Dillon on Gunsmoke. He turned it down for fear it would typecast him. Pretty funny.

What a coincidence. John Wayne also collected really nice clothes, really nice shoes, and the underwear of women he slept with.

I don't want to nitpick, but a merkin technically isn't underwear.

Books, DVDs...

My collection is relatively small compared to most. I've got about 50 now. I was getting a bunch of Woody Allens, but then MGM sold their stockpile to Sony so I'm gonna wait and see how that comes out.

DeNiro's...Scorsese's....

I also have a nice stack of refrigerator magnets to all the cool places I've been.
