If laws like this continue to be added, then maybe.

There are tradeoffs to everything, and if the Fed is going to involve itself in the employer/employee contract in this way, then it could have the unintentional consequence of hurting the employment/promotion prospects of young women or newlywed men.

Well, nevertheless, employers aren't allowed to discriminate based on pregnancy, and common sense says that those protections aren't likely to disappear.

Nope. If so, I want it, or something similar as well.

I think I might be willing to support it for any woman who signs a contract to carry the baby to term and raise it or give it up for adoption.

If some women can be persuaded only through bribery not to commit murder, I suppose it's worth a discussion.

I'm kind of surprised the way the results of the poll came out. I wouldn't think there would be that many people here in favor of taxpayer funded pregnancy leave.

I would of liked to seen the results for Trump voters/supporters only. Of course, the other side of the field has a much higher socialism approval rating, but I'm curious how many socialist are amongst his crowd.

I've already had chicken pox. I don't care what you do as long as I don't have to pay for it.

You do have to pay for it, via your health insurance premiums

At first blush I'm saying no, because I think it would be onerous for small businesses. However, maybe it wouldn't be such a bad idea. A government program that encourages productive, well-educated, working people to reproduce would probably be a good thing for the declining birth rates among those groups.

Eventually you could see the European problems of their welfare states running out of other people's money to spend manifesting themselves here, in part because birth rates have declined there for a long time and replaced by migration, which doesn't produce the kind of labor productivity needed to keep the system running.
