Washington DC and The Holy Land>Disturbing Things Said By 2019 Dem House Freshmen
vailpass 11:48 AM 01-25-2019
There are some Freshmen 2019 Congress people who are showing early signs that they will be promoting controversial points of view not in keeping with traditional American view points. It's still early but they will be interesting to watch as especially once the government reopens.

Reps Ilhan Omar, Rashida Talib, Alexandria Cortez, and others promise to make things interesting.

For starters, here's one from Omar.

Rep. Ilhan Omar faces backlash after claiming Trump is backing ‘coup’ in Venezuela

Minnesota Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar is facing a social media backlash after accusing President Trump of backing a “coup” in the socialist-led country of Venezuela even though Nicolas Maduro’s government is considered largely illegitimate by much of the international community.

“A US backed coup in Venezuela is not a solution to the dire issues they face,” Omar tweeted. “Trump’s efforts to install a far right opposition will only incite violence and further destabilize the region. We Must support Mexico, Uruguay, & the Vatican’s efforts to facilitate a peaceful dialogue.”

The U.S. and other nations on Wednesday took the step of recognizing Juan Guaido, the opposition head of the National Assembly, as the interim president of Venezuela. Maduro was elected last year in a vote widely seen as fraudulent.

Omar’s response provoked a fierce backlash on social media.

* The opposition is not far-right

* The idea that there is no violence at the moment, or that it's the result of US policy rather than Nicolas Maduro, is absurd

As the vastly differing stances by Sanders and Omar show, the left of the Dems is much less united than people think. https://t.co/T2ch125uWC

Omar was at the center of another Twitter controversy earlier this week when she made unsubstantiated accusations against the Covington Catholic students who had the viral confrontation with Native American elder Nathan Phillips.

She also was criticized for claiming that Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., was “compromised” and that Israel has “hypnotized” the world.

I don't see any incompatibilities.

Have you ever sworn an oath?

You’re either lying or uninformed. Makes zero difference to me either way.
Look to France or the UK to see what allowing the muzlim influence to creep in will do to your society. It’s not debatable.

Nothing is debatable to the close minded.

I'd put her patriotism over yours any day.

And twice during Ramadan.

Newly sworn-in Michigan Rep. catching heat for Capitol Hill office map alteration

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A reporter with Buzzfeed noticed an alteration to a map in the Capitol Hill office of new Michigan Representative Rashida Tlaib, that many are interpreting as a belief that Israel should be wiped off the earth. The reporter tweeted a photo closeup of the map, where Israel is located, noting that someone had placed a note next to it reading "Palestine" with an arrow pointing at Israel.

Tlaib joined Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar in becoming the first female Muslim members of Congress this week when they were sworn in. Omar has been criticized for openly making anti-Israel statements in the past, and has not reversed those claims.
Tlaib, meanwhile, made waves after Thursday night, when she used an expletive to refer to President Trump in a call to impeach him.

Tlaib has faced accusations of being openly anti-Semitic. She is also on record as supporting a “one-state solution” in the Middle East to solve the Israeli-Palestinian problem, which would deny the Jewish people sovereign right to Israel.

She headlined a rally calling for the “Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions” against Israel in 2014 with a man named Dawud Walid, who has blamed “the Jews” as being responsible for the “wrath of Allah” that they have brought on themselves.

Rep. Tlaib has also associated with (and hosted at her Capitol Hill office Thursday morning) Women’s March organizer Linda Sarsour, who has faced growing backlash for expressing anti-Semitic views.

As of Friday morning, Tlaib had made no reference to the map or explanation of what the meaning behind it was.

The UK'S biggest problem is Brexit. It was favored by rural English citizens who seldom encounter people of Muslim faith. Meanwhile, urban people who work and live among Muslims on a daily basis opposed Brexit. Your reasoning sucks.
