As for the signing, I think he could be an okay run plugger. I'm not the guy that was on him in draft mocks, but I do remember us discussing him two years ago when he was a RFA with the Jets. [Reply]

Yeah at least that's one good thing the kid picked up from Dorsey; keep turning over rocks until the league shuts you down for the season. I don't recall Peeholi or Carl ever working that hard. Those guys were roster-lazy. [Reply]
Why was he cut and then unsigned for half the season if he’s any good? Was it because nobody wanted him or was it because he didn’t want to go back to a losing franchise (didn’t enjoy his time with Jets). Or was it money?
Why did his PFF grade improve so drastically in 2018? Juicing for contract year? Situational player used in spots that fit his skill set (only 328 snaps all year)
Why aren’t more planeteers excited for the signing? Pennel should help us prevent opposing offenses from playing keepaway from Mahomes as easily as they have been able to thus far. [Reply]

Fatty signings in general aren't sexy and even if Pennel turns out to be a winner, his impact on the field will be measured by what doesn't happen on his watch rather than anything he might do to bring positive attention to himself and his game. [Reply]
You have a guy that has proven he can play well at a position of weakness...on a team with Mahomes. I'm not expecting miracles...but this is a good "hedge" signing by Veach.
He essentially replaces a player, at the same position, that wasn't seeing the field. You arent losing much...
If he turns out to help stop getting gashed...this is a huge win. [Reply]

Sure hope the injury bug doesn;t hit the Pats real hard later in the year when it really hurts them, they aren't real deep.
Michael Bennett, Dietrich Wise, and Chase Winovich are all backups on Pat's d line. Bennett barely plays ( less than 15 snaps per game recently). IMO it's the deepest they've ever been on the d line. [Reply]

I'm very excited about it. We need big guys on the line. I am being cautiously optimistic though. It's not that the Pats cut him, it's that nobody picked him up afterwards. [Reply]
