I don't hate the pick, but don't quite understand not taking Martin.

I thought Martin but given Dayton's love for collecting arms that's not surprising at all. Big lefty who throws hard.

Our pitching staff can be filthy in 3 years.

I didn't study Lacy at all - who are his comps?

I was hoping for Martin but to be honest, I’m good with this.

Best pitcher in the draft fell into your lap, might as well.

I mean, I was going to be happy if one of Martin/Lacy fell to them. The fact both did is just crazy.

Can’t go wrong either way. Lacy has true No. 1 potential as a LHP with a plus fastball, one plus and one above average breaker and above average change.

There ARE some questions about how Martin’s power transfers, and he isn’t a plus runner. I think he would have been the pick of the Marlins take Lacy.

I like the Lacy pick. Stock the system with high end arms, and if you need to trade 1 or 2, you have them for a run.

And he has the unbelievable hubris to say that baseball just isn't that profitable. Like he should've taken the $120 million that he immediately recouped by selling parking garages and just shoved it into savings bonds instead.

What a massive prick. Stingy bastard won't bail out his dipshit GM for his neverending streak of stupid FA acquisitions and unnecessary contract extensions. So very done with Bill DeWitt.

Asa Lacy, Texas AM LHP, is the top college arm. He sits 93-94, has a plus change and an above-average breaking ball. I've seen speculation he's the only college arm they think can be a true #1 at this point. He seems pretty locked to the Mariners at 1-3, and would pair with Julio Rodriguez and Jarred Kelenic to give them 3 top 25-30 prospects.

I talked about Zac Veen, the top college bat, a little already. He's a lefty hitting guy who probably plays LF long-term (arm is just OK for CF and not enough for RF). Veen has huge power upside and is a great athlete who would be expected to hit for solid average. Hard worker, too. He's expected to be the first HS guy drafted.

My long-time crush Emerson Hancock, RHP Georgia, has slipped since this time last year. The velocity is still there, but he was just OK to start his college season before the shutdown, and there are now concerns about his breaking ball (which apparently regressed a lot).

Pete Crow-Armstrong. Very Royals-y guy. I don't think they draft him at 4, but he's a plus-plus CF with a good LH stroke.
You happy?

Can Crow-Armstrong make it to 32?????
