No..I want ways to use them for Independence Day. It seems like a fitting statement. I want this to go viral.

So they did win that? I thought they won but then another court struck it down again or something.

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying there isn't sense in social distancing. I would prefer the Church handle that themselves. But again, when people see mobs running the streets they get bent when you tell them they can't do things so you understand why some people are not happy about how a lot of this is being handled.

I think the mask order was a bit pre-mature but whatever. The goal posts have clearly been moved from deaths to cases now and that's going to be a tougher one to get through. That's why I would have liked to have heard some specifics from her yesterday on what exactly she was looking to achieve aside from the obvious "we don't want any cases".

Why don't you just wear a bandana. I do when I go to the casinos and I think it looks pretty sweet

Yes they did win which makes this latest executive order without teeth unless it's adopted by individual localities.

The few churches that I know of that have in church worship are also streaming their services and are having fewer in church parishioners. The rioting certainly couldn't happen at a worse time and I don't think all the people are saying it's good and fine but it is within their constitutional rights.

I have been one of the sheep that has worn a mask in public since March and wasn't planning on ceasing anyway so the governors order doesn't bother me one way or the other. Also, I apologize for calling you fucking stupid yesterday.

Actually I don't think it was the court order that prevents this, I believe that the legislature passed a bill in their emergency session that limited the governors ability to do it and she signed it into law.

It's all good. I take most of what people say here in stride.

Anyone care to explain to me how NY has 400k Confirmed cases and they are trending down?

400k is no where near herd immunity unless we have grossly under estimated how many cases there really are.

My biggest problem with her on this mask order is her wishy-washy way of going about things. I believe a state legislator from Wichita said the same. One day she is punting things to the locals and then the next taking it back because she isn't getting her way or at least that's how it comes off.

JoCo was resisting the mask order because they didn't see any reason to force it right now. They were asking people to do things and the numbers were not dictating a reason to force it. WY and DG chose to force it. So it's almost like she came out and forced this just to stick her thumb in the eye of JoCo. And then her politicization of it during her conference by saying things like "even Republicans...". That's bullshit.

So I put my tin foil hat on and say as the riots started calming down suddenly we go back to being Covid dictators. The Mayor in KC who was marching without a mask now wants to force everyone to wear a mask. Jackson County signed on. Then you had some Ks counties jump in.

She didn't need to get involved. She doesn't seem to have a plan and is more worried about showing the R's in the state house who is boss. That's just how she tends to come off.

He did express concern with people gathering in mass crowds so shut down more bars I guess? Let the people riot in the streets.

I didn't listen to his testimony but did he express any kind of goal or metrics? We have completely flattened the curve. Even with the rise in cases thus far and thankfully it is not translating into deaths.

So you have to ask what is Fauci's goal? 10k cases a day? 0? He wanted more testing and naturally an increase in cases will go along with that so I wish these people would be a bit more clear. Maybe he was and it wasn't stated in the article I read.
He actually wasn't fear mongering at all. He was basically of the stance that "we don't know" and ol' Warren wouldn't shut her yapper and kept pressuring into making him give her a number if things don't get better. Blame that one on Warren, not Fauci. That was a worst case scenario kind of number.

Context is everything. In fact, Fauci even expressed frustration today at his words being skewed or taken out of context and propagated by the media. It happens to everyone, not just orange man. Try to watch things in their entirety (or at least their local entirety) to get a better picture of what was being said.

Netflix has a very informative short series called "Corona Virus explained". The second episode provides an excellent explanation of the vaccine discovery process. Recommended.

Some of the senators asked good questions, some made good points but took too much time and didn't allow Fauci or others to answer sufficiently, and some tried to use the platform to grandstand instead of ask questions.
