Good read on the kid. I'm starting to like him more and more every day. Still think this is the QB Andy wants.

Really good article on Davis Webb that shows why a lot of teams like him.

A few good pieces of info here:

He's always around the facilities. He's always working out,'" Spavital says. "You listen to that and you trust their opinions, but you have the I'll believe it when I see it mentality."
The stories weren't tall tales. Spavital would arrive at Cal's facility around 4:30-5 a.m. Webb joined him by 6:30 or 7 a.m. The two wouldn't head home until 7-10 p.m.
"The first few times I was like, 'Does this kid ever wanna go home?'" Spavital says. "There were times where I wanted to tell him, 'Listen, you need to get away from the offices.'"

Webb grew so comfortable in Spavital's offense that he would often come to him with presentations of new plays and checks he wanted to install, which he then did.
"I probably gave him more freedom than any quarterback I've coached," Spavital says. "He just had a great understanding of what was trying to be accomplished. And he could go out there and execute it. Now, if he wanted to put in new plays or if he was going to check into certain things, he would definitely run it by me first and ask my opinion of it. Or if he liked certain concepts that he wanted to get installed, he'd make a huge cut up and a big presentation of it, just to let me know he's thought of all the ends and outs, and the what ifs of a certain play -- just all the contingencies of what can happen on a certain play.
"He's very methodical with his thinking. He thought it all through before he came with a plan to me."
That's why Spavital, who's coached eventual NFL quarterbacks in Case Keenum, Geno Smith, Brandon Weeden, and Johnny Manziel, trusted Webb enough to allow him to run the Friday morning meeting with the offense's skill players. In that meeting, Webb would make 60-play cut ups and present them to his teammates. Never before had Spavital let a player run a Friday meeting.
The entire offense ran through him. When I asked Hansen to compare the system Goff ran to the system Webb ran, he pointed out that Webb was required to do more before the play. Even Dykes didn't refute the notion that Webb did more than Goff pre-snap.
"We gave Davis a tremendous amount of freedom -- more than we gave Jared," Dykes says. "A lot of that has to do with what a guy is comfortable with. Certainly Jared had a great knowledge of our offense and what we were trying to do and everything, but I think he was a little more comfortable not having to direct traffic maybe not as much as Davis was.
"Davis likes directing traffic. That's kind of who he is."
After the snap, Webb showed off his cannon for an arm, which -- behind his brain and confident personality -- is his best attribute. He boasts an arm as pure as Lannister gold. He can throw from every platform. He doesn't need his feet to be set. He can make every throw required of an NFL quarterback.

He's a football junkie. And when you steer the conversation away from his personal life and to football, it's almost impossible to talk about anything else.

I think he's the most likely choice for us. Just think Mahomes is too hot for us to get to. I also think he could be the third qb taken. Watson' arm strength is going to raise a lot of red flags imo

Boy drafting an ILB with Alex Smith as the QB will be really exciting for next year. Love watching our defense hold a team to 14 points and the offense struggle in the last minutes to get to 17.

I love this segment on Webb. Some of the stuff Webb says just makes him/his attitude come off as awesome as hell.

This is just such an odd QB class.

Dipshit Knowmo says that Lynch would've been a potential #1 overall pick in this class yet I've seen quite a few scouts say they have higher grades on Webb than they had on Goff last year.

So either the 5th best QB in this year's class is better than the 2nd best QB in last year's class or nobody has a goddamn idea what to think about the quarterbacks this year.

Or both.

Webb might violate my 'no ugly QBs' rule.

I just get the feeling that he looks like Elvis Grbac with a helmet on. It's hard to rally behind howdy doodey. He even looks goofy doing athletic drills. There's a lot of general awkwardness to him when you see him without pads and a helmet on.

Am I the only one that thinks he looks like Drew Brees? Perfect touch on the ball, great arm, goes through his progressions and finds the open guy.

I hope we draft this kid!!! With his work ethic and positive attitude- he will be a Champion some day. I hope he wins his rings with the Chiefs!!

Sounds like you are talking about a clumsy, dorky looking 7th rounder named.......Tom Brady. :-)

Just the look?

He looks like the love child of Jim Kelly and Pee Wee Herman.

Yep Chiefs should go with a more handsome QB that looks good in a suit... like they did with Todd Blackledge over a sloppy dressed, unrefined Marino.

I know you're joking but I can't help but do this when evaluating QB's

I am not making any comment or expressing any opinion on which QB the Chiefs should be considering.

That post was a joke.

Nothing more and nothing less.

My quarterback needs to have fucked the prom queen. I just feel like that's a pre-requisite.

Mr. "Golly gee, I was a backup on C team as a freshman" was scraping up leftovers in the flag corps until his senior year when he had a car and started banging sophomore 6s that were just looking for a ride to school and a way into the upperclassmen dances.

I know and it was spot on. The Chiefs DO have a history of drafting guys that LOOK like a QB... that is until they get the pads on.

I work on Saturdays so rarely get to watch college football. I will have to trust people's opinions on here if he is the real deal. I can only go by what I see on the videos and I think he looks better than any other QB in the draft. But, like I said, I could be looking at him with Rose Colored glasses- since I want the Chiefs to draft a quality franchise QB so bad.
