I'm aware of politicians trying to override the approach where the scientists were in charge.

But of course the "follow the science" crowd doesn't like that so...

There will always be politicians trying to politician. No country is immune from them. Sweden has done a good job up to this point not letting people who don't understand anything make the decisions. Hopefully it can continue.

The prediction was 100,000+ dead Swedes if they didn't adopt Chinese style lockdowns. No masks, schools open. Never happened.

They had voluntary social distancing (I would be fine with that), handwashing (cool), and banned large events for a while.

They followed their chief epidemiologist.

They sure did. And even he admits he wouldn't do it the same way again.

Bound to happen:

Dec 30 (Reuters) - A nurse in California tested positive for COVID-19 more than a week after receiving Pfizer Inc's vaccine, an ABC News affiliate reported https://bit.ly/2L8iBel on Tuesday, but a medical expert said the body needs more time to build up protection.

Matthew W., 45, a nurse at two different local hospitals, said in a Facebook post on December 18 that he had received the Pfizer vaccine, telling the ABC News affiliate that his arm was sore for a day but that he had suffered no other side-effects.

Six days later on Christmas Eve, he became sick after working a shift in the COVID-19 unit, the report added. He got the chills and later came down with muscle aches and fatigue.

He went to a drive-up hospital testing site and tested positive for COVID-19 the day after Christmas, the report said.

Christian Ramers, an infectious disease specialist with Family Health Centers of San Diego, told the ABC News affiliate that this scenario was not unexpected.

"We know from the vaccine clinical trials that it's going to take about 10 to 14 days for you to start to develop protection from the vaccine," Ramers said.

"That first dose we think gives you somewhere around 50%, and you need that second dose to get up to 95%," Ramers added.

Yes, you've repeatedly demonstrated your lack of accuracy and precision.

What are your plans Donger after you get your shot? Are you going to miss all this?! You seem like someone that enjoys Apocalypse.

Maybe you will be organizing your local seniors on mask drives for future flu seasons?

You're a smart guy and you know that any predictions made were done out of having to deal with a virus no one had ever seen before. There are people in this very thread that predicted less than 1k or 5k deaths, go back and read the early posts. No one had a clue and to a large degree we still don't know very much about covid.

Yes knowing what we know now we would do some things differently and sounds like Sweden will as well by doing more targeted lockdowns. We know that any medium or higher indoor gatherings shouldn't be happening at all.

And it is up to the government to fund those business and employees until it is safe to fully reopen. We failed here in the US doing that it and was left up to the states and local governments to protect lives which is BY FAR the most important thing. If it wasn't for the local and state governments, I think we would have 1 million or higher dead.

You will still be required to wear a mask and social distance.

You're definitely right that this was bound to happen given the size of the population vaccinated, the extent of viral spread, the person's natural exposure to the virus, and the short period of time after he was vaccinated.

Yet another client tested positive.

I'm back in quarantine again. I sent my test in today. I'll find out if I can work tomorrow.

I'm really fucking sick of people fucking around and ruining my life with their careless selfish bullshit.

I just got my notification that I will get my 2nd dose next Wednesday, a couple of days before my 21 days. Looked it up and it seems that is acceptable per the CDC.
