There's a big learning curve when going from "a big fish in a small pond" to an "average fish in a big pond". He'll either work his ass off the next couple of years and make the show or he won't, just depends on his mental makeup. The tools are there. [Reply]

Kpass (on Dorsey's watch), Speaks, Nnadi, and now Saunders. Nnadi is the only major contributor so far, and he's still pretty meh. If these were all 4th or 5th round picks it would be understandable that they're raw and not ready to contribute. But year after year we keep taking these guys in the 2nd and 3rd round and getting almost nothing out of it. If Saunders can't get on the game day roster within another 2-3 weeks they might as well find a way to IR him instead of wasting a roster spot on another DL bust.
Yet, people want to trade Jones and replace him in the draft. :-) [Reply]

You pay Chris Jones. D-linemen that can consistently dominate the LOS don't grow on trees. This is becoming more and more a passing league, and with our style of play, having a dominating interior pass rusher is worth paying for. We get up on teams early and then pin our ears back and attack on defense.
And in the meantime you do what you can to coach up any issues he has with run defense. [Reply]
I really hope it works out for this guy. He seems like a good person. Just started a family, wife and baby etc. I'll admit I was really high on him in the beginning. Still holding out hope. [Reply]
The middle of our Dline has been terrible against the run. Jones and Williams have no gap discipline at all, they just want to rush the passer. I wonder if Williams is trying to do what Jones did last year, abandon the run defense trying to get a big contract by sacking the QB. [Reply]
