i started watching this the last couple of nights.. im about 7 episodes into season 1. Its decent but the thing im wondering is how they set up all these crazy missions with all these different teams and shit and its like 1 hour has passed since they decided they needed to do it.

It's been awhile since I've seen season 1 so I'm not entirely sure I understand your question, but if you're asking where the other teams come from, they've been there awhile. The first Travellers were sent back to 2001 and others have been arriving ever since, so there are a lot of other teams in place by the time the main protagonists of the show arrive.
