Washington DC and The Holy Land>Democrats are ****ing sick!
Taco John 05:25 PM 03-21-2019

This is an advertisement. They want your kids. If you don't homeschool, what the fuck are you even doing? Your children are the target, and if you haven't figured that out yet, you're too fucking stupid to associate with. Unplug your kids from the web. pic.twitter.com/Pz8Ia8GJDK

Dont confuse experts with evidence. I use the word evidence because for any policy you can pull up an "expert" whose opinion is biased. I prefer to use evidence, such as statistical research.

We can start at the beginning with corporate tax rates and "tax cuts for the rich"

Under Obama the U.S. had the highest corporate tax rates in the O.E.C.D. at 35%. The left love to tout the Nordic countries as ideal economically when their avg corporate tax rate is only 23%, which is much less than what we had under Obama. After Trump cut corporate taxes to 21% this is what popular democrats had to say:

Sen. Chuck Schumer

“Even as corporations plow tens of billions of dollars into share buybacks and stock repurchasing programs instead of raising wages or hiring more workers, President Trump and Congressional Republicans are doing their best to portray their $1.5 trillion corporate giveaway as a boost to working Americans.”

Nancy Pelosi

“Pelosi criticized the Republican tax cut at her weekly press conference on Jan. 11. ‘There is up to at least a $1.3 trillion tax break for corporations unpaid for,’ she said. Her office said she was referring to the cut in the corporate tax rate.”

Sen. Heidi Heitkamp

"This Bill Gives Huge, Permanent Tax Cuts To Corporations And Millionaires"

Sen. Joe Donnelly

"The Tax Reform Law Is “A Giveaway To Wall Street And Other Big Money Interests.”

Sen. Claire McCaskill

Working People In Missouri Deserve Better Than To Get Scraps, While Corporations And Wealthy Business Owners Make Out Like Bandits …”

But before Trump was elected and before he cut the corporate tax rates this is what those same democrats had to say:

Schumer: “To Preserve Our International Competitiveness, It Is Imperative We Seek To Reduce The Corporate Rate From 35 Percent … This Will Boost Growth And Encourage More Companies To Invest In The United States.”

Pelosi: “It is long past time for tax reform that would lower the corporate rate, close special interest loopholes, end costly tax expenditures, and ensure all Americans are paying their fair share.”

McCaskill: “Today I think we are in agreement that the current U.S. tax system is broken and needs reform. Our corporate tax rate is among the highest in the industrialized world. Our worldwide tax system is out of sync with the territorial models our economic peers have implemented."

Donnelly: “I Would Support Reducing The Tax On Small Businesses And All Businesses — Corporations — To 25 Percent. And what we’re able to do by that is it’s able to make our companies more competitive and it will help us to be able to bring more businesses right back to our own country.”

Heitkamp: “We All Know Our Nominal Rate In The Corporate Income Tax Area Is Too High.”

Economists on both sides of the aisle agree cutting corporate taxes to ZERO would be ideal.

https://www.npr.org/sections/money/2...liticians-hate

So without a doubt the democrats are promoting fake news regarding the corporate tax cuts and promoting positions they don't even agree with in an effort to appeal to their base and promote the narrative that corporations are getting breaks while everyone else suffers.

As for "tax cuts for the rich" and the notion that the top 1% are getting rich at the expense of everyone else. The personal income tax plan under Trump is even more progressive. Research by the unbiased Tax Policy Center shows the top 1% actually pay more taxes now than they did under Obama:

https://www.wsj.com/articles/top-20-...tax-1523007001

The top 1% went from paying 38% of total income taxes to a little over 43%.

Households in the top 20% pay 87% of income taxes, up from 84% under Obama.

The lower 60% of households now pay no net federal income tax in 2018 vs. 2% of it under Obama.

First off, taking the position that you heard a 'smart person's' opinion and agreed with what they said doesn't confer their intelligence to you, or indicate anything about your intelligence at all, for that matter. It only speaks to the nature of things you find persuasive. Everyone, of all intellectual profiles, possesses a persuasion profile. But the specifics of that profile are only of interest to people interested in persuasion specifically, or in persuading you specifically.

Second, when you've accepted one side of the argument on the basis of someone seeming smart, and rejected the criticism without exploring the merits of it, you've done nothing towards the discernment of truth. You've picked a narrative on superficial grounds, exercising no intellectual work whatsoever.

Finally, you might need to realize that not everyone has the time or energy to hold every individual progressive's hand through the arduous, rigorous, convoluted and often contentious analytical process every time one pops up with ideas and questions. Particularly when it's been done a million times before, and particularly when it is often the case that no matter how clear, unambiguous and persuasive the presentation, . . . the progressive still just negates the entire exercise with a bunch of tantrummy retorts 'well, I guess I just want a better world' 'I still don't buy it.' 'You'll be on the wrong side of history one day' etc.

This is particularly true when these 'consensus' positions still are clearly fringe positions in terms of actually being implemented. Not everyone has all day to Socratically take people through the process of information evaluation, particularly when those people are hostile novices.

At this point it's simply right verses wrong. The only people left who support the Democrat party are sick, twisted perverts, and then those who are somehow still too fucking stupid to see what that party has become.

A lot of us used to be Democrats, but everyone with any sense of decency and a triple-digit IQ has left like they were fleeing a burning building. If you still support the Democrats, you're either evil, or just plain ignorant.
