It's very simple. There will be a mass shooting event sooner than later.
It will be followed by a massive leak wherein everyone who can be traced to have owned a firearm in any capacity will be made public.
This mass shooting event will be blamed on the "alt right."
Thus the connotation will be made between gun ownership and "white nationalism / supremacy" where it is assumed if you're in one category you are, by definition, in the other. If you don't give up your guns then logically you are just like the terrorists who invaded the Capitol.
What is the skinny on this? If right to publicly carry is ruled against, why wouldn't Missouri and Kansas also be on the list? Is this court ruling some kind of wording thing that only effects these certain states or what am I missing here :-) [Reply]

I haven't read the actual decision yet, so keep that in mind. I reserve the right to change my take after a reading:
Given the claimed outcome, SCOTUS will pretty much have to take this up, or hand down another ruling which addresses this. The claimed holding here is too radical for even this court to ignore. [Reply]
SCOTUS has already set precedent on this. Can't remember the case, but maybe part of Heller. SCOTUS also slapped down municipalities who refused to issue carry licenses. [Reply]

NYC was going to get slapped down on a related matter. But the fact that the 9th still came down with this ruling (again, see my disclaimer above) can't be ignored by the SCOTUS, if it's to keep any credibility at all on 2nd amendment issues. [Reply]

All these commies want to take all our rights. 2nd is the people's guarantee of the others. [Reply]

It's taking a lot of time, but the fatal flaw of the Constitution (putting the federal government in charge of controlling the federal government) is slowly pushing us towards the point of no return. [Reply]
