Louie Gohmert, who refused to wear a mask, tests positive for coronavirus
The Texas Republican received the diagnosis during a pre-screening procedure at the White House on Wednesday morning.

Rep. Louie Gohmert — a Texas Republican who has been walking around the Capitol without a mask — has tested positive for the coronavirus, according to multiple sources.

Gohmert was scheduled to fly to Texas on Wednesday morning with President Donald Trump and tested positive in a pre-screen at the White House. The eighth-term Republican told CNN last month that he was not wearing a mask because he was being tested regularly for the coronavirus.

"[I]f I get it," he told CNN in June, "you'll never see me without a mask."

Reps. Mario Diaz Balart (R-Fla.), Neal Dunn (R-Fla.), Morgan Griffith (R-Va.), Mike Kelly (R-Pa.), Ben McAdams (D-Utah) and Tom Rice (R-S.C.) have tested positive for the virus, along with Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.).

In May, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) turned down the administration's offer of rapid testing for the Capitol. Some lawmakers — mostly Republicans — decline to use face coverings while in the building.

Gohmert attended Tuesday's blockbuster House Judiciary Committee hearing with Attorney General William Barr in person, where lawmakers were seated at some distance from one another.

But footage from before the hearing shows Gohmert and Barr walking together in close contact, with neither wearing a mask.

Justice Department spokeswoman Kerri Kupec said Barr will be tested for coronavirus on Wednesday.

At one point in the hearing, Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) chastised several Republicans for taking off their masks, though Gohmert was not among those he scolded.

"I would remind Mr. Jordan, Mr. Biggs and Mr. Johnson to stop violating the rules of the committee,” Nadler said, referring to Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), Arizona Rep. Andy Biggs and Louisiana Rep. Mike Johnson, three GOP lawmakers. “To stop violating the safety of the members of the committee. To stop holding themselves out as not caring by refusing to wear their masks.”

“Is it permissible to drink a sip of coffee?” one of the members asked.

“It is not permissible,” replied Nadler.

Connie Hair, Gohmert's chief of staff, declined comment.

Kyle Cheney, Josh Gerstein and Max Cohen contributed to this report.

Tammy, Tammy, Tammy, it's probably best if you don't wear one. Just to be on the safe side.

I've seen no evidence of Muller being demonized or shamed for his prior views by any fellow scientists, so I'm not really sure where you're coming from on that. There's no information via Google search on anything of the sort. If you have evidence of that, I'd love to see it, because otherwise your premise doesn't stand up.
Muller, to my knowledge, never claimed to be a Climate Change Denier. He claimed he was a climate change skeptic. Prior to doing his own study, He claimed he didn't know if green house gases were were warming the earth or not or by how much. He claimed he didn't know but that the felt studies he saw on the subject were flawed. You guys on the left are the ones who called him a "denier"

The left uses the term "Denier" in lieu of "Skeptic" because they want to equate Climate change skeptics with those who deny the holocaust happened. It is most certainly a slur. Claiming otherwise just isn't credible.

You also claim there is nothing wrong with being a Climate change denier, yet the left has pushed for climate change deniers to be prosecuted:

Can you trust Climate Change Science to be good if you might end up in jail for producing Climate Change Science which contradicts the political narrative?

Please name one climate scientist from your sources above that was named to be prosecuted. You can't, because that's not what those articles are talking about at all. They're discussing political proposals against fossil fuel corporations. You're all over the place here, bud. It doesn't matter what the left wants to label. You can't remove the politics from the science. Not sure what else to tell you. You just want to blame "The left."

They want to prosecute those who introduce doubt about Climate change. You, in this very thread, called Muller a Climate Change Denier because he at one time expressed his skepticism.

You have guys like Bill Nye and many others saying this about climate change skeptics:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xlk4Lt__Sn0

Nye's statement shows the sentiment on the left is wide open on who should be prosecuted for dissenting.

Premise 1: Good science can not happen without skepticism.
Premise 2: Skepticism of climate change is/has been silenced/stiffled/or otherwise discouraged by the left.
Conclusion: Therefore Climate change science is not good science.

You already conceded Premise 1. Further evidence of premise 2 is the calling for the prosecution of climate change skeptics by those on the left. Pretending such calls won't influence scientist is ludicrous. A scientist can be a target and locked up too.

Good grief, man. Again, the video directly says "Energy CEOs." They're not talking about climate scientists. Muller was a climate change denier. But he clearly wasn't ever shamed or demonized by fellow scientists like you claimed. Otherwise you'd have some actual evidence other than the political racketeering stuff regarding corporation CEOs you continue to post. Do you understand what RICO was? Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act. Organizations. Not climate scientists. Sorry, but at this point, you're just embarrassing yourself.

Nye talked about executives but he also did not exclude anyone. He was specifically asked about "Skeptics" and "Deniers" getting locked up as criminals in the Hague. His response, "We'll see....". Yeah....we'll see how far the prosecutions have to go.

The fact that the left talks about prosecuting anyone for introducing Climate Change Doubt is going to scare any skeptic into thinking twice about voicing their opinions or publishing their findings. Persecutions by the left have been historically far reaching. There are very good reasons to believe Premise 2 is true.

And Herman Cain didn't mask up at Trump's Tulsa rally, 9 days later confirmed with the virus, and now it's killed him. Too bad politics led him to risk his life. RIP.

If you weren't so stupid, you'd have posted this in the thread about Cain and see that he was already a very ill man with bad lungs and cancer in two places. He was 75 years old. Cain exercised his freedom and took personal responsibility for his actions instead of the govt doing it for him.

Oh, and I thought wearing the mask was supposed to protect others? Thus it was patriotic. You guys sure do move the goal posts around a LOT. So dishonest.

Lol sorry I missed your Cain thread. I'm not a full timer like you. I'm well aware Cain had those conditions. The bottom line is he and other Trumptards decided to rally in the middle of a pandemic and sadly many predictably fell ill. I always get you confused with the taco guy. Are you into the conspiracies too? I've so much to learn from you.
