Urban Meyer is going to epically fail as an NFL head coach.

I don’t get it for Jacksonville.

Meyer was a great college coach because of two factors:

1) Early adoption/innovation with the spread option, especially for running
2) recruiting prowess

Neither of those factors in at the NFL level now.

I think the Jags just did the one thing they could to fuck up their current situation.

I think Urban is pretty smart and has an idea that he can't run the Florida Gators offense in Jacksonville. It will come down to who he can land as his coordinators.

Haven't heard any coordinator names yet, but it wouldn't surprise me if all he could scrounge up was a Linehan type of hire.

All of the speculation has been “shitty” though.

Ray Farmer, Scott Linehan, Charlie Strong...

Either it’s a coincidence or Meyer has some terrible taste for GM/OC/DC.

It would seem to me Meyer's shortlist for DC would probably be Chris Ash, Greg Schiano, and Charlie Strong. Not exactly an all-star list. Unless, of course, he goes outside his tree.

So they’re bringing him in for his CEO skills?

I mean, he has those at the college level. Will it translate to the NFL? Usually does not.
