Can't get it up here north of the border but, through a wine distributer I am able to order a case. Would like to hear from someone who knows their stuff and has tried it before I order.

Definitely not...but I have a friend who hit it big when he sold his company. He bought an $8k bottle of cognac....Hardy I think. It was pretty friggin amazing. Unlike any cognac I've had. I'ld pay $1k for a bottle of that stuff. [Reply]

I once bought the Sam Adams Utopias... think it was ~$200, split it with a friend. We would drink a few ounces each whenever we got together for hockey. It lasted longer than I expected and I thought it was worth the one time relatively tiny splurge.
I can't imagine even spending $1000 on a bottle of bourbon or whatever, much less 15 times that, or $140k... even if I had the money, I'd never want to drink it.

Utopias are great. More like madeira or port than beer.
I've got a hard limit on per bottle spending and it's around $100. But when I'm at a vendor event and someone's got some expense dollars to spend, bring out the vintage menu. [Reply]
I am not a Makers Mark guy at all. I guess I understand it's supposed to be really good, but I've tried it many times over the years, and it NEVER stands out to me to be anything more than meh.
Yesterday, I was at a pub for a cancer benefit, and I saw they had Makers Mark Cask strength. I've heard good things, but as I say, it's Makers, so I don't really care. So I had one. Neet with a little water.
Holy shit. That was damn good. Shockingly good. Can't believe I'm drinking Makers good. So, there ya go. [Reply]
