They were supposed to drop last week but couldn't and it's probably for the best. It sat long enough most of the trees and brush has moved to the banks and will be dropped there. They are hoping it doesn't jam up at the dam again. [Reply]

Sioux City is channeled really well too, and it still looks like that. They'll be fine, though. Wish everywhere was set up like that. Most other cities are not so lucky. [Reply]

Have you ever driven up to War Eagle's Monument overlooking the river there? It's only a couple of minutes off the Riverside exit. There's parking and then a sort walk to the edge of the bluff, you get a good view of things from there. [Reply]

No, your brother failed to mention anything about that. Will have to check that out next time I'm up that way.

Can't imagine what will happen if we get multiple showers this week.
Actually, Lake of the Ozarks is still pretty average at the moment, and they normally hold off on any dam draining from Truman to Lake of the Ozarks this time of year, specifically to maintain a buffer on the Lake of the Ozarks after the spring rain hits and fills Truman. I was just down at Lake of the Ozarks last week. They can release a lot into Lake of the Ozarks to account for flooding at Truman and the Lake of the Ozarks can absorb a shit ton before disrupting much for those around the area.
That's what the native from the area told me last weekend at least... [Reply]
