My basic rule for a sport - your opponent actually does something to impede your progress other than stand there watching. Golf is basically bowling outdoors.
That's my general thought, too. I know some people differentiate "team sport" for the reason of non-teams sports, but if golf is a sport, then mini-golf is also a sport? :-)
I still remember some frat douche in college passionately arguing with me, saying competitive fishing is a sport...... I mean, I guess it could be if your opponent was Moby Dick. :-) [Reply]
