IIRC, it's a pretty big problem.

Point is, it's not up to you to decide for others.

You'll be ok.
Misdiagnosis is not always due to incompetence, the human body is way trickier to navigate than some people In here seem to think , evident by some of the comments in here regarding novel viruses/vaccine/masks.

Hospitalizations have stabilized a bit here in NW Missouri. Cases are still pretty high though. Will be interesting to see what happens over the next few weeks.

The internet says between 40k-80k, so technically between 1/15th and 1/8th the problem as Covid...... or in other words, someone should be 8-15 times more worried about dying from Covid than medical misdiagnosis.

I will be okay. Because I'm vaccinated. I know what I'm supposed to do is not care if the unvaccinated die because of their idiotic decisions but gosh I guess I'm just having a hard time letting you all suffer the consequences of disinformation but the more you talk the more I'm becoming okay with it.

It's about the same as the number of people who die from the flu and pneumonia every year... not sure of the breakdown of sheer incompetence vs. Dr. House cases vs everything in between though.

Not insignificant by any means, but makes up about a tenth of one percent of the ~35-40 million inpatient visits per year.

How many people die each year because they don't take an illness or pain seriously?

IIRC, it's more than the number of people who die because of a physician's misdiagnosis.

That's a lot of people who don't know their bodies as well as they think they do.

Considering about a million people/year die from heart disease, chronic respiratory diseases, and diabetes.... I would say a lot.

Usually stemming from unhealthy lifestyles that take their toll as you get older.

Most people know if they've eaten right, exercised and took good care of themselves.

Again misdiagnosis is not always due to any malpractice or human error. Body doesn’t always follow the rules.

Those people often delay healthcare because they think they’re healthy, a lot of pathology doesn’t care how healthy you think you are.
