oldman 02:30 PM 03-15-2019
These are the Chiefs FAs we haven't heard anything about. Do we try to retain or are they bagging groceries at Hy-Vee? The only ones I'd like to see around next year are Sherman, Devey, and perhaps Ellis. Discuss.

Anthony Sherman -- FB --resigned
Orlando Scandrick -- CB

Still in need of running back help behind Kerryon Johnson, the Detroit Lions are hosting Spencer Ware on a free-agent visit Monday, ESPN reported.

Ware was the Kansas City Chiefs’ starting running back in 2016, but he’s missed much of the last two seasons with injuries.

Ware did not play in 2017 after injuring his knee in the preseason, and he ran for just 246 yards in 13 games last season before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury.

The Lions are expected to emphasize the running game even more this fall under new offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell, and for now have Zach Zenner penciled in as Johnson’s primary backup.

Johnson led the Lions with 641 yards rushing last season and finished second in the NFL with a 5.4-yard-per-carry average. He missed six games late in the season with a knee injury.

Zenner, who had 265 yards on 55 carries, re-signed on a one-year deal at the start of free agency last week.

The Lions also return third-down back Theo Riddick and signed veteran Kerwynn Williams to a futures deal after the season.

Last week, the Lions hosted former Los Angeles Rams running back Malcolm Brown on a visit.
