I hadn’t seen it was degenerative. They probably need to get him off SS quickly if that’s the case.

He had a 4.3 WAR in only 84 games. That's about as good as Trout. If only he could stay healthy.

It's a herniated disc, but the location of it is brutal - in the lower back it's going to make him prone to upper back injuries his whole career. A few Padres writers have also reported he had struggled with back spasms throughout the minors.

With back problems of my own, I always look into injuries like that. It's not always reported as being a career long injury, but often injuries like this do end careers. There are some exceptions (like Kershaw) but he's had to be managed strategically by the Dodgers to make sure he's always ready for the playoffs.

Nope. Won’t happen. That roster shouldn’t have even lost that many games this year, but SD always falls short.

Whit gets to 200 hits. This is an incredible stat.

With @WhitMerrifield reaching 200 hits, the #Royals will become the 1st A.L. team since the 1931 Yankees that has a 200-hit player, a different 45-home run player and another 40-stolen base player.

The '31 Yankees were Lou Gehrig (hits), Babe Ruth (HR) and Ben Chapman (SB).

Greinke is 3 outs from a no-hitter against Seattle tonight. The Astros staff is loaded.

They remind me of the 2001 Dbacks except with an additional ace. And probably a better everyday lineup but that Dbacks team could rake.

Adalberto Mondesi will have shoulder surgery next for a tear in the joint. Recovery time 5-6 months. May be ready by opening day. #Royals
