So my district's plan is my 1st grader will attend school 2 days a week then have "daily Teacher contact" for the other 3.

Translation: I am going to have to subsidize my child's education by placing him into another learning facility such as Sylvan for the other 3 days. They literally took away his last 2 months of Kindergarten and now I guess they think they can educate a child that young with only 2 days of instruction.

And the guidelines they claim they are following state elementary kids should be in school. Somehow less than half of the time he is supposed to be in class is now acceptable at the elementary level.

Wtf, the kids will still be exposed 2 days a week. What the hell does that accomplish?

A neighbor of mine said she was able to go to CVS, reserved time, do a nasal swab that you do yourself and not the swab to the brain. Said she was on the way home and got results.

I know. What they are doing is breaking the students up by name...A-? goes Monday and Tuesday and ?-Z goes Thursday and Friday.

So not even half the time they are supposed to be in school.

So I just learned yesterday that my family was possibly exposed. Right now it's just 2nd degree - a friend's coworker tested positive, then we were around him, then he started having symptoms. He should get the results today. We were all wearing mask when around him though...we'll see.

I’m assuming you were generalizing to all “younger” people with your comments in this thread.

Have you had it yet?

My knee-jerk reaction is to agree, but it does lower exposure risk on two fronts - time and number of people. It also allows for a day of deep cleaning between sessions.

Well the main reason is I don't want to have to spend 2 weeks quarantined.

I'm a fairly busy guy and that would definitely cramp my lifestyle.

BTW my son in law nor any of the 3 grand kids were ever symptomatic, cant say whether they had it or not because they didnt get tested due to that.

She had fever and mild body aches and lost her taste and smell for a few days.

It was just a couple days ago that the entire South Korean population was crammed together on 1 block, so thats no surprise.
