Besides the fact DJJasonp was joking, there's a difference between fake stuff that is treated realistically, and fake stuff that even in the fake world is treated in a 'problematic' way.
If they had treated Lewis as a rapist in the movie, that would be one thing. But he impersonated the cheerleader's boyfriend, then when he's unmasked she's just like 'oh well, good dickin' tho' And ends the movie on his arm, like that's how sex through subterfuge works.
I'm not saying I'm personally outraged by it, but you gotta see how many would view this as at least skeevy behavior by the ostensible heroes, if not outright traumatizing for some of the more sensitive in the audience.
DJJasonp points out another good example, where 'the Geek' hauled that chick around stoned and drunk out of her gourd, and basically treated her like a fuck toy. Again, I love the movie and overlook these kinds of flaws. But I can see where people would be outraged to see this portrayed as normal high school behavior.
