Edave is here to play stairway and lick his neighbors kazoo, and he just sang
And as we wind on down the road
Our shadows taller than our soul
There walks a lady we all know
Who shines white light and wants to show
How everything still turns to gold
And if you listen very hard
The tune will come to you at last
When all are one and one is all
To be a rock and not to roll
So I hope she's ready to get hit in the titty with a guitar pick. [Reply]
Gig #2. To an empty house. But it was great as I could relax and just play. Relaxed tempo, the room wasn't spinning, and I made no mistakes. Learned a lot tonight.
It takes real balls to stand up and perform/speak to people.
IMO standup is more difficult. When you pause after giving the punch line your taking a huge leap of faith that a room full of strangers is going to laugh at your joke. Learning to keep your composure after a joke you wrote fell flat is tough because your natural tendency is to panic and rush through your set.
I will say that learning to be a great public speaker is a great skill to hone because once you feel comfortable and confident you can bullshit your way into a lot of jobs. [Reply]
