When I went to St. Petersburg Jr. College in '68 - '69 I remember Jim Morrison was listed in the school handbook as a famous alumni. I think he attended one year around 1961 when he stayed at his grandparents in Clearwater. He also hung out a coffee house in Pinellas Park called Beau Arts. I'm on the St. Pete Facebook page and a lot of people remember him from hanging out there.
After going to SPJC he went to Florida State in Tallahassee and I found some interesting media. He appeared in a school promo video and had one arrest also.
Here's a high school photo, he graduated from a school in Alexandria Virginia just outside DC.

His dad was THE Admiral, Rear Admiral George S Morrison, who (get THIS) was commander of the U.S. Navy in the Gulf of Tonkin during the Gulf of Tonkin Incident of August 1964, which sparked the escalation of American involvement in Vietnam.
