After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.
The series will be written and executive produced by Emmy-nominated producer and actor Jon Favreau, as previously announced, with Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels) directing the first episode.
Additional episodic directors include Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates), and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok).
It will be executive produced by Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. Karen Gilchrist will serve as co-executive producer. Stay tuned to StarWars.com for updates.

I loved that Ahsoka mentioned other living Jedi. I guess, given the timeline, Luke is one of them? I doubt they bring him on the show, though it's a nice thought. [Reply]

He was an awful character and even worse when shown in the animated series.
He couldn't kill Grevious and the Emperor was just toying with him, which was clear as day.
The Emperor could have unleashed his Force lightening and killed Windu immediately but he waited until just the right moment so that Anakin would have no other option than to turn to Dark side of the Force and join him. [Reply]

You're speculating! I believe George Lucas himself as well as the official novelizations outright state that Mace won the fight straight up, though Palps was definitely hamming it up at the end. [Reply]
I wonder if they go ahead and show Gorgu as an adult if he'll up as the same size as a human man, because not much is known of his race which was by Lucas' design.
It could be that it's like different breeds of canine or feline depending how they physically and mentally adapted evolved in their part of the world. [Reply]

I think that would be out of character considering that Yoda and Yaddle were very small in stature, which would lead to a lot of unnecessary questions about the species. It's already a bit confusing to me that Grogu spent decades learning from Jedi Masters, yet he has the maturity of an 18 month old. That seemed like a strange road to travel. And knowing that he spent decades in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, why can't he speak Basic?
One aspect of this episode didn't necessarily confirm my earlier speculation but it didn't exactly negate it either, is the idea that Thrawn is behind the abduction of Grogu because he wants to create a Dark Force User in order to fulfill the role of the Emperor and take over the galaxy.
Maybe they ultimately go down the path of Jorus C'Baoth or maybe they use a different Jedi but I would be over the moon if ultimately, the Heir to the Empire series is repurposed in some form.
Filoni made some changes to Thrawn's backstory in Rebels and the latest Thrawn books by Timothy Zahn but the "bones" of the story certainly still exist and wouldn't upset or change the sequels (although I'd prefer they're wiped out completely but I don't know how realistic that is at this point in time).
But if that is where they're heading, they're going to have tens of millions of very happy Star Wars fans.

Actually if you add more questions you can extend the universe to include such a backstory for prequels. Plus it would be badass to see him in full Mandalorian armor with the Dark Sabre when he takes off the helmet it is revealed it's Gorgu when you think it's an adult sized human
