Being mediocre was so goddamned frustrating.

Never good enough to contend, just good enough to hope, never bad enough to get a stud QB.

The only joy was the occasional FA pickup or trade we'd overpay for, and then the hope as we approached the draft.

I mean, that's not true at all. When we got THE stud quarterback, we had been quite good.

There has to be a QB the FO wants. At that point, it's all about making the trade to get them. It's not always going to be possible (Luck), but it certainly is in many other cases.

True - we needed a GM with balls and not a ridiculous ego.

The fact that Dorsey turned around and took Baker at 1 overall tells me how blessed we are to have Veach.
