Bolles was the 13th ranked LT this past season per PFF. Brown Jr was 15th which included him getting acclimated to a new system.

Bolles is the 6th highest paid LT and that’s after Trent Willams and David Bahktiari got paid recently.

Dude is massively overpaid for his value. He was a terrible until 2020 and then became average last year. He’s not a top 5 tackle by any means

Mongo was a Top 5 tackle (per PFF ratings) for one year . . . . . ONE. 2020. . . . . . . a contract year as many have already pointed out. Outside of that, he has been an average to below average NFL LT. Those are the facts.

You don’t take a guy who’s had a 5 year NFL career and has had ONE good NFL season and point to THAT season and say ‘well, that’s who he is’. That’s fucking stupid.

Even KnowMo can’t spin that shit.

ObJr., at most, will be making 16.7 mil. this year, while the Donkos are paying Mongo $21 mil.

Right now, OTC values OBJr. at roughly $15 mil. a year, while he’s currently slated to get paid $16.7 mil. Basically, the Chiefs are getting almost equal value for his performance on the field.

https://overthecap.com/player/ (Feel free to check the valuations for yourself)

On the other hand, OTC’s current single year valuation for Mongo is $8.8 million, while he’s gonna be pulling a $21 mil. cap hit. Not exactly getting what you’re paying for there, huh?

Mongo is a fraud. Just like we all knew he was after watching him play for several years. Wonder how long it will take #PatonPlan to figure it out?

Mongo kicked ass in the one season where they decided holding didn't exist anymore...then went back to what he always was. It just happened to be a contract year and the Donks bit...

Bolles was a project when he was drafted. He struggled early, but got better each and every year leading up to 2020.

Okay, after those improvements, here's the updated table. I think this is a *much* better reflection than the one above and is more favorable to teams with stars returning from injury like eg BAL and GB pic.twitter.com/AL0XOi5DS9

Bolles was barely better than Brown Jr last year but that was with playing way less snaps and Brown being on a new team/system.

Of course Brown Jr will cost more he’s getting paid later. Just like how Russ will cost over $50 million average while Mahomes is $45 million because he was paid earlier.

Brown was in the perfect scheme for him in Baltimore. Going from a run heavy team to a pass heavy team was never a great fit for Brown. Add in the position flip and future contract demands and it makes the decision to trade for him look even sketchier.

Until you actually watch him play and see that the OL is playing well and he’s not a problem.

The only time Brown Jr struggled was against Myles Garrett in week 1.

You’re criticizing a player that was rated very similarly to Bolles last season who you spent a 1st rd pick on and are paying a cap hit of $21 million this year.

So Broncos getting better at HC (which was a MAJOR Improvement alone), at QB, and even in FA market.

:-) just lost their best big time playmaking target and you guys are taking about Bolles?

Perfect Pat landed in a dream spot at the perfect time. The window is closing and all he has to show for it is a SB win and a SB loss plus some heartbreaking AFC Championship losses at home.

Cannot wait for the season to start for the 1st time in 5 years!
