Thanks!

No that wouldn't be a valid comparison at all.

The point about who is most at risk, the numbers, all of it is valid discussion. I just find it interesting people lose their shit over a specific number and shrug off a greater number.

If 150K people die from this this year you are still 4x more likely to die from heart disease. I get the unknown part of it makes it scary but the truth is a very very small % of the country is at risk of dying even if they get it.

Nothing invalid about any of that. Its pragmatic.
Of course there is. And it's obvious:

Heart disease is NOT contagious. You can't go to the store and "catch" it. You can't go home and give it to other people. Who then give it to other people, and you have exponential growth.

That is why we don't lock down for heart disease or tell people not to drive.

That is why we did for COVID-19. And we still have 70,000 dead.

I get that you have an agenda, but good God, man...

But there's a vaccine for the flu. And therapeutics.
And we still lose 10's of 1,000's of people each year to it. When do we say enough?!?!?

When was the last time any nation stopped EVERYTHING because of a virus?

I do wonder if we'll see a reduction in flu deaths this year.

It's basically that ridiculous, you're arguing such and such die from this not taking anything else into account.

only 45 % of adults get their flu shots in the US flu deaths would be a lot lower if people didn't minimize the flu or the flu shot, so technically stupid people are causing some of those flu deaths.

I bet we do simply from people being extra cautious about things like not going to work if they are sick, etc.

Or people will just get labeled with Covid and not get tested because things.

Pete you're smarter than this.

They think up to 2.2 million would have died from covid by 8-1 if we're had done nothing.

Where does tens of thousands fit into that?

I also have a hypothesis that 2020-21 flu deaths will be lower because I bet flu vaccination rates go through the roof.

So then we lock everything down until everyone get their shot!!!

And FTR, I get the flu shot every year and was sick as fuck this year.

And what about these fucking kids running around with the flu but they are asymptomatic but they bring it home to Mom and Dad and Granny and Grampy?

I am just saying there is a degree of irony in all of this, you have to admit.

Or because people will not be allowed to be in groups larger than a dozen people for an indefinite period.

Keep in mind that they had no idea that the infection rate was likely 20X higher than they knew at that time.

nope people still won't , it probably didn't go up with H1n1, it won't now people fear vaccines more than viruses because the man who is trying to GET them created it.
