It's that conflation of black and blackNESS, or white and whiteNESS, going on everywhere.
If you have a criticism of NBA standards, cite the standard and explain the problem, don't handwave it as 'forcing them to be less black.'
Black isn't a behavior, it's an irrelevant trait.
Your stance is like asserting that women have a right to 'act blonde.' Or that 'short person rage' is a culture.
I didnt turn it into that. The players and journalists did. This was after the malice in the palace incident.

You cosigned, and reasserted it in this thread.

Then you queried if there was 'Problem?' when responded to. [Reply]
My friend was playing hockey with a black guy who happens to be married to a native women and at some point the discussion in the dressing room turned towards some of the guys complaining about how shitty their kids were and this guy who had been pretty quiet so far chimes in and says “ you think you guys have it bad , my kids are too lazy to steal” that would have killed like 30 years ago but nope nothing but crickets , I thought it was quite the zinger myself.
I think the PC thing has gone a little to far when you can laugh at a good mixed racial kids joke. [Reply]

So you don't think the nba (David stern) thought "how do we get our players, the vast majority being black, to be less themselves to change the perception of the league"?
I thought the policy change was stupid, just like i think this 'reprogramming' is stupid. But they are similar situations.
The post i originally quoted said what if corporations said "be less black... and pull up your pants"
The nba said, wear professional clothes into the arenas and at press conferences to its mostly black work force. [Reply]
