How Ticketmaster Plans to Check Your Vaccine Status for Concerts: Exclusive

Here's how it would work, if approved: After purchasing a ticket for a concert, fans would need to verify that they have already been vaccinated (which would provide approximately one year of COVID-19 protection) or test negative for coronavirus approximately 24 to 72 hours prior to the concert. The length of coverage a test would provide would be governed by regional health authorities -- if attendees of a Friday night concert had to be tested 48 hours in advance, most could start the testing process the day before the event. If it was a 24-hour window, most people would likely be tested the same day of the event at a lab or a health clinic.

Wouldn't surprise me if a wide range of events start requiring proof of either antibodies or vaccine. At least until things start to be a bit more controlled.

??

If an adult doesn't want to get a vaccine why should they be required to, since they are only risking themselves and others that chose not to be vaccinated?

Because fuck you, that's why.

It’s been a long while since any class I was in about it but if I remember correctly it would have to do with whether the vaccine stops transmission or just stops symptoms

Deaths on the Midwest are the highest they’ve ever been

They aren't required to. They aren't going to jail. They aren't being banned from a publicly funded event.

There's a tradeoff...if you want to partake in certain activities that are held by private companies, then you must fulfill the prerequisites.

Do I think it's shitty? Yeah, mostly by the folks that are giving out the vaccine status.

I am really starting to question the mask thing. The CDC came out today and said that now masks protect the wearer where as before it was to protect others from the wearer as it were.

More people are wearing masks now than ever yet cases are going through the roof. Something just isn't adding up. We keep hearing "wear your masks". I can't go anywhere save very few places where everyone doesn't have a mask on yet cases are going up.

I am not saying masks don't have a place but is it possible that they just aren't working very well?

That's because nobody knows what the F is going on. It's kind of a "learn as you go" kind of thing.

Yeah. I mean, come on...they're porous pieces of cloth. They're probably better than nothing though.

Yeah. THey're probably better than nothing though.
Not saying they aren't better than nothing but the rate at which cases are going up you have to wonder just how much better?

It’s masks plus hand washing plus distancing plus whatever

There isn’t a silver bullet

Yet

Yeah. A mask can generally reduce droplet spray, but if you are in a tight space with someone exhaling covid everywhere, it's going to go right around the edges of that mask (unless it's a properly fitted N95).

I know and that's why "wear your mask" is something many medical professionals have said provides a very false sense of security.
