Okay, here is a place for the Golfers to talk about tournaments, clubs, swing help or thoughts.
Today is the Players Championship, which I think ought to be the 5th Major. Largest pot in the PGA. The daunting 17th, which seems to bring excitement every year. At least we will get to see Sergio blow up yet again.

In the past two weeks I've played three rounds and I don't think I've hit more than three fairways in any of them and I have no flipping clue what I'm doing. If it was all missing right or left I could probably fix it, but it's left, right, top, just whatever.
I decided last night to try and play nine and leave the driver in the bag and use the three wood and that didn't seem to help either. I hit one fairway out of the seven and that one was topped so bad it went about 150 yards.
It's awful to play like that, especially when you know you can do better. It's embarrassing to be THAT guy in your foursome where your partners are saying "it's not that bad" or "just hit another ball". I'm not that guy, and I'm way to competitive to settle for shitty play. I'm headed to the Pro this week to see if I can reel my game back in. I know for a fact that part of my problem is the six inch course between my ears. I have a hell of a time shaking off a bad hole. [Reply]
McIlroy is crushing the field for what looks to be his 3rd career major. He'd be the only one to do that by the age of 25 other than Jack and Tiger. Pretty remarkable. [Reply]
The British Open has seen some epic collapses but I'm not sure I'd bet on this being one of them.
The other amazing thing was Tom Watson making the cut. He's going to be playing British Opens when he's 90. Not really, but he's still out there playing right with some of the big names, and outplaying others in this event. [Reply]

Watson was a childhood hero and now that I'm old he's still my hero. That said I hit 50 drivers in a row today. That's a good bit of work. I teed up ten balls in a row and then I methodically hit each ball going through my whole routine. I'd hit ten and then I'd tee up the next ten. Then I'd put the club down towel off, take a drink of water, towel off, do some stretches and then methodically hit the 10 teed up balls. I went through that process 5 times. It was a great work out. In the end I hit probably 110 balls but in the middle of it all I hit 50 drivers in a row. I'll be sore but it will be a good kind of sore. [Reply]

I think it just goes to show how great Tiger really was. Or Nicklaus. Being in contention at every single major is super hard. Although even Tiger had a couple droughts when he was younger. [Reply]
