Nzoner's Game Room>****Bucs/Packers NFC championship game thread***
RunKC 03:07 PM 01-23-2021
What do you guys make of this one? Which one are we playing in Tampa?

I would love for Patrick to get revenge on Brady for 2018 but I think Rodgers and the Packers will fist them tomorrow.

Supposed to be snowing tomorrow in GB too. Not ideal for a 43 year old noodle arm.

Heck of a camera angle there.

Not worth a challenge. How can you even challenge it? He grabbed the ball and ran

Hmm.

I see that it hit the line -- does it matter that the guy then took the ball out? I mean this isn't a punt or does giving up yourself mean it only has to hit the endzone?

That was a weird kickoff landing. The returner kind of got screwed.

What are they challenging? You can obviously run a kickoff out of the end zone. Regardless of where the ball hit, he ran it out. What am I missing?

Even if it hit the line, he still grabbed it and ran with it, right?

Haha, LaFleur threw that with authority.

Yeah I thought if returner picks it up and returns.. it doesn't matter? Maybe I'm missing a rule

Exactly. I don't get it.

What about that punt though.

Actually, I was paying no attention at all. Was that a kickoff or a punt? I was assuming it was a kickoff.

Like if the returner somehow returned that for a TD.. it wouldn't count?

As soon as the ball hits the end zone, it's a touchback. The rules changed in 2018.

The return took the ball an advanced it so I don't understand what is being challenged. Just because the ball it the goal line doesn't mean it's dead. If the player would have let it go then it's a touchback but he didn't. But it's called a touchback.
