Former #Patriots G Joe Thuney is getting a 5-year deal from Kansas City. First bombshell.

More details on Joe Thuney's 5-year, $80M deal with the Chiefs:
Signing bonus: $17M
Base salaries: $990K, $13.9M, $15M, $15.5M, $15.5M
Workout bonuses totaling $2.11M

That structure keeps Thuney's 2021 cap number at just $4.5M.

KC still has room to work with in free agency.

Can't wait until Nelson resets the market at G and this stud is seen as a bargain.

Thuney is the second best lineman in FA, no? Right there with anyone behind Williams.

Thuney gives them some flex. Probably easier to get along with a rookie at LT if you have a veteran stud next to him. They also can still pursue a veteran upgrade at LT.

Shit, depending on how it's structured, they might even be able to still pursue Williams, too.

2010 maybe?
Trade for Dillard would be great. I am curious to see what Prince Wago can do too however I get it if they don't wanna risk Pat's blind side to a 6th round pick who they grabbed off the scrap heap.

Williams, Thuney, Niang, Rankins, Remmers as the opening day line?

Draft me some depth and I'm sold. Mahomes tweeted about it, he's happy about the Thuney signing.

On the lone TD drive of the game, the #Patriots had LG Joe Thuney block Aaron Donald 1v1 twice in key situations, and Thuney won both times. Thuney has tackle-like skills. Always balanced, great core strength, quick feet, knows how to use his arms/hands. Underrated player. pic.twitter.com/MQQaWpdZLj

I still can't imagine Veach and Reid are going to be comfortable with starting essentially two rookie tackles.

There has to be a move coming at LT. May not be Williams but they are going to sign somebody.

Pre-Veach, I would've thought maybe the plan is to make Thuney the full-time LT.

Thankfully, Veach isn't retarded.

Wasn't expecting this but we just added a great player.

I think we add one more big OL. Hopefully Trent.

Nelson will be in the $20-22 million per year range.

Remmers
Thuney
Niang

Allegretti
Rankins

Look, if we sign Trent Williams, we're in good shape on the O-line BEFORE the draft.
