What Restaurants did you grow up around? I'm not talking super fancy and yes fast-food counts. What distinctive memories do you associate with them?
Mine?

There were two Tiny's in Springfield, maybe three, at one time. I only remember them being a bbq and Seafood buffet. Of course, I was about 12 at the time. [Reply]

Taco Via- The one at 95th and Antioch, OP
Arthur Trachers- also near 95th and antioch, OP.
Fish and chips ruled!, I don't have any Long John Silvers around me anymore. [Reply]
when I grew up in Massachusetts, Papa Murphy's Pizza, and local seafood restaurants that I can't remember the names of. When we moved to Kansas it was mostly Taco Tico, McDonalds and Wendy's. Granted we hardly ever ate out, maybe once every few months. [Reply]
Texas Tom's- Who could forget those tacky looking neon signs.
Mrs. Winners Chicken- On 87th street in Overland Park near where the library was built. Once when I was like 10 I wrote that the cashiers were real stinky on the customer comment card. A Mcdonalds was put in years later.
Don Chilitos on Johnson Drive- Parents took me there to eat for years. Used to order the Dons plate.
Showbiz Pizza on Bannister road- My second grade little league team had an after game party there. I wasn't told until I was 19 that the bear on stage playing in a band was actually a robot and not the same as the one that brought out the cake and helped sing happy birthday. [Reply]
