Why would any team be determined to trade off their young talented core? They made trades they felt would better the team. It didn't work out but it's not like the Thunder's GM did what he did to make the Thunder worse.

It's fine that Durant left the Thunder. That is not a big deal. But how anyone could claim that leaving the Thunder for the 73-9 Warriors (the same team that eliminated the team you played for and your "brother" Russell Westbrook the exact same year) is not taking the easy way out to get a championship ring is delusional.

He's a p***y and a traitor in my eyes. He'll probably get his ring this year but there aren't going to be many people that respect it like would have if he had went somewhere else or gotten one with OKC.

See you in 2021!

The CELTICS AND LAKERS OMG finals rivalry is a celebrated thing in the NBA. This should be no different if media types start bitching about the lack of different teams from year to year

Why would you call him a "p***y"? Going 29-12 in the close-out game on the road in the western conference finals seems to indicate that he's anything but a "p***y". Great players want to play with great players. When your current team decides to gut the roster of talent (and your friends), it's difficult to blame the guy for wanting to check out his options.

Was Shaq a "p***y" for leaving Orlando for LA? Was Robert Horry a "p***y" for signing with SA?

That was Durants team!! He was a MVP candidate. Not some guy off the bench in Horry or Shaq in being the #2 with LA. Durant is a shooter and a MCP candidate when he was with the Thunder.

Shaq did say in the 'This Magic Moment' doc that him leaving Orlando was more than a little about him being immature and jealous and that if he had to do it all over again he would of stayed in Orlando.

Figures he got along with Penny much better than Kobe. Both Shaq and Kobe wanted to be the center of attention while Penny was much more introverted and didn't mind playing second fiddle.

Shaq was #1 in Orlando, which is the comparison.

Of course, Shaq was also #1 in LA, but that's an argument for another time.

Hilarious you calling Durant a pussy for going there. Just because he left your favorite team that is ran by a bunch of idiots doesn't make him a pussy.

The "He took the easy way out to get a ring" argument is BS because why the hell would he take the hard way to get a ring? If you're a great player and you can go play with other great players with a great coach in a great system in a great city....why would you not go? Should you go to a shittier team just to prove something to NBA fans? Carmelo Anthony went that route and how did that turn out?

It's not B.S. He ended up joining the team that he couldn't defeat in the playoffs. I would at least respect Durant if he went to an up and coming team with a better front office than OKC that hadn't won anything yet. Durant wanted a championship on his resume so he threw up the white flag and joined a team that had recently won one.

Nothing is wrong with them, they just don't want too much rest between now and the NBA finals
