That's potentially very good news. FWIW, the study hasn't undergone peer review yet. This is a pre-print. Be optimistic, but don't assume it's the final word.

Also, that would mean it's much more infectious than we previously thought which is both good and bad.

Well I think it would be amazing news, because it would drop the mortality rate alot right? Meaning we could just focus on those who are vulnerable and rest could get back to life.

I'd be interested to know how many people that age died of flu on average each season.
Quite honestly, until you know the answer to that your first point lacks any context IMO. To be more specific you would want to know how many in NYC died of the flu on average each season in NYC.

It means it’s more infectious than we thought so the number to get to herd immunity is higher. So basically the more vulnerable are fucked

https://www.sccgov.org/sites/covid19...ard.aspx#cases

That's a link to the Santa Clara County COVID-19 site.

They're showing 1,833 cases with 69 deaths, so I'm not sure I understand this paper. Is it just an estimate based on ?

Yeah no one can say. I would imagine if you asked those 39 they all would agree that they are happy it was prescribed.

It'll be interesting to eventually find out what causes certain, otherwise healthy, people to have such horrible symptoms and others to not even know they had it.

NY at 630 for today, is that final count? In which case have they been there for a couple of days?

Of the numbers we know since testing yes. It also leads to believe it’s been here longer so there were likely more deaths earlier we didn’t know about.

It’s good in that it’ll likely burn thru faster
