Nzoner's Game Room>How Many 1st Rounders for YOU to trade Mahomes?
Pablo 07:05 AM 09-22-2018
It's a simple question.

Looks like we have an absolute stud at QB and that's the most important position in the league. However, if 'X' team came at you as Chiefs GM and offered you 'x' future 1st round picks for Pat, what does it take for you to move him?

Everything has it's price right?

None. Maybe I'm being a total Homer, or maybe the fact we haven't won a Superbowl since I've been a Chiefs fan (28 years. I'm 34), but this kid appears to be a generational talent. Perhaps even a once in a lifetime type of guy. He may be the face of the modern NFL. You don't trade that or the perks that he brings.

We've all wanted a home grown QB instead of a retread, one that we can keep here and make people envy what we have.

But I will play this game and come up with a silly scenario.....

This would be a 3 team deal.....first the Jaguars would have to trade their next two 1st round draft picks to Green Bay for Aaron Rodgers or to Philadelphia for Carson Wentz. Then we would send our 1st round pic and Pat Mahomes straight up for the whole Jaguars defense and only having to pay half of their salaries, meaning the Jags would eat half of their salaries. With all that cap money we could pay Rogers or Wentz and have the stud defense to go on top of the stud offense.

Now...we all know the possibility of that happening is about as much as the possibility of a Supermodel leaving their wealthy billionaire husband for an average member of ChiefsPlanet.

While perusing the NFL for comparisons for my trade I happened back on this article from back in March.....funny reading. Look at where they have Mahomes ranked.

#26? What was that guy smoking? Surely, nobody was stupid enough to think that he would be ranked below Tannehill and Tyrod Taylor even back in March. What a dufass.

Alex Smith would accomplish the same thing with these weapons. See what happened when Reid opened the playbook last year.

All indicators pointed to PM as being a generational talent going into the draft last year. All reports of his development last year supported that notion. And now his play so far as the starter has also supported that notion. No way you trade away that.

This is why the Khalil Mack trade is so dumb. Raiders have about 1 in a billion odds to get another Khalil out of those two 1st round picks. Hell, both of them could be busts!

I'm not exactly serious BUT Reid going full blown conservative with Smith led to two huge blown playoff games.

That was a march article after seeing only 1 game with limited playbook options.
