If you will, compare being a KC fan to being a Cardinals fan. KC was a franchise in 1960. Arizona/Chicago/whatever was a franchise in 1920. 40 years difference. The Cardinals are 100 years old.
They've logged 564 total wins. And the Chiefs, who are 40 years behind the Cardinals as a franchise, have 490 total wins.
Let's pretend that the Cardinals shared the Chiefs' history in regular season win totals in that same period (1960-2020). How bad would the Cardinals have to be from 1920-1960 in order to balance out their Chiefs fan experience of success?
That means they would only average 1.85 wins per season from 1920-1960.

I couldn’t stand it...if those percentages are correct, I edited it to reflect a hierarchical standing. Wiki is a great starting point, but any 4th grader can create a page. [Reply]

They weighted it by Division record. That's how you get that messed up stuff where you have teams with a .531 winning percentage ahead of the Chiefs and Steelers.
It says at the top of the table that it's ranked by straight winning percentage but it obviously isn't. [Reply]
