The original Bushwood thread is overflowing like Craig Stadler's FUPA.
Use this thread to discuss tournaments, swing thoughts, equipment, and golf deals.
I thought we could also use the OP to create a WITB for ChiefsPlanet members. I'll list a poster's name and put their sticks in a spoiler tag, so you can see what everyone is carrying. [Reply]
Sup Golf aficionados. I am in need of some new golf clubs. When I say new, I really mean used because it's not worth it to me since I don't play much.
I currently have clubs from back in HS from circa 2002ish. I used to be quite the stick. I've shot 67 before. I went to state in HS. I played for a shitty D2 school in college. Used to be able to shoot 70's in my sleep. I haven't played in 4 years, and the years before that I played like 2-3 times a year ever since I graduated college. Apparently I really suck when I don't play very often, so forged or blade irons are not an option. I need in between duffer & reasonable good player irons. I probably would be happy to shoot mid 80s to upper 80s right now. I hit a natural draw, and a hook when playing bad so I really really hate when they offset clubs.
What is a good used iron set (can be even 10 years old) for about $100? What is a good driver & 3-wood for about $75 What about putters?
I currently have King Cobra Irons from like 2002.
Ping Driver 8.5 straight faced driver from about 2001 (absolutely love it by the way).
Cleveland GAP Wedge & Sand Wedge.
Only need new clubs because I lost the 8iron and 4iron and now the Ping Driver has something lose inside the head.

Irons will probably be Callaway's of some kind with metal stiff shafts
Driver and 3 wood will probably be Taylor Made
Putter-hard to tell due to the crazy variety. Ping or Scotty McCaren are gonna be a little pricey but you don't want a bent putter from the local mini-golf
Hard to see you getting a set to satisfy your game for the price you are asking. You have a good game so some scrub set like Wilson won't satisfy you or work.
Try a local golf shop who took a set in on trade in [Reply]

I fucking love, love, love hybrid irons. Could never hit ANY iron worth a shit. I play with a set of Adams Golf V4 hybrids. Probably not the best set of hybrids you could have, but they work well enough for me. [Reply]
Been watching the NCAA championship. Love this stuff. Some of these kids are gonna be great pros.
Mancheno is from Jax. He was #1 at his high school while my son was at his. He's a natural player. Missed out on being the individual champ in a playoff as a freshman. [Reply]

I’ve been watching a bit. I actually played that golf course last year. It’s pretty difficult [Reply]

This.
As I am aging, the hybrids are more forgiving, especially in the rough (which I am in frequently). I hit them longer as well. Get a stiff shaft graphite. Heck I am now using a 2 iron with amazing consistency. I rarely use my 3 wood anymore.
I have a set of Warrior clubs. Their customer service is just OK, but I like their bang for the buck. [Reply]

I don't get what the deal is on Hybrids. I have a Taylor Made RBZ Hybrid and I can't hit it for shit. I stroke regular Taylor Made 3-wood and a 4-iron, though. [Reply]
