Highest paid....Russell Wilson
MVP....Patrick Mahomes
Number one draft pick...Kyler Murray
Leading Heisman candidate....Jalen Hurts
That ability to escape the pocket, extend plays, plant that...run? pass?...seed, is where things are heading. No backer ever has to worry about Eli, Rivers, Brady, Dalton, running the football. That can't be said about those mentioned above.
Lamar Jackson is what we see at Arizona(faster than Jackson), Oklahoma, Ohio State, and all over college/HS football nowadays, that mobile QB, a guy who can scoot 30 yards, extend plays.
The first black QB's were Willie Thrower, Marlon "Magician" Briscoe, James Harris, "Jefferson Street" Joe Gillum. (can't really count Fritz Pollard) but none of them made any impact.
It started with Doug Williams, Warren Moon and Randall Cunningham, they proved that yes blacks can play NFL QB.
Today there are more black starting QB's than ever before.
Can't ignore....
DeShaun Watson
Kordell Steward
Daunte Culpepper
Jeff Blake
Rodney Peete
Vince Young
Colin Kaepernick
Lamar Jackson
Jacoby Bissett
Teddy Bridgewater
Tyrod Taylor
Andre Ware
Vince Evans
Akili Smith
Geno Smith [Reply]
Not hating on the brothas on here or start some "race war" lol but come on, how many of them have won Superbowls??? Russel Wilson (most recently of course) and that Redskins' black qb won one (way before my time though).
White boy pocket passers still dominate the QB position when its all said & done. [Reply]

How many current NFL teams have a white boy pocket passer?
If you watch HS/NCAA football, what are you seeing?
The days of standing tall in the pocket are coming to an end, now it's put pressure on a defense on the perimeter, make them worry about the run.
There is Eli, nobody is worried at all about him running the ball so here they come, totally different deal with a Lamar Jackson back there.
The first draft pick next season with be Jalen Hurts out of Oklahoma, he can scoot. [Reply]

And if you graduate to watching NFL what are you seeing? Athletic QBs who can't read an NFL level defense in time will not get a second NFL contract or one that is franchise level pay day.
Some elite QBs are mobile, all top tier QBs are pocket savvy [Reply]

Nothing incoherent, nobody here in any position to laugh at anyone (their thread history proves that) and far far from being a fool.
Dude, talking about peckers.....really guy? [Reply]

I will agree to disagree. My point still stands. Very few (only 2 actually) black QBs have won a Super Bowl.
I'm seriously not trying to knock these mobile black qbs but their style of play isn't as sustainable as what white boy pocket passers are. You actually believe a guy like Lamar Jackson is going to win a Super Bowl? lol
I also disagree that Hurts will be the number one pick. Its probably gonna be Tua (who is of course black) so you do kinda have a point there at least. [Reply]

I'm not talking the past with this, I'm talking about what we are seeing right now, and the future.
