For some reason, I’m reminded of Factotum.

“They won’t win. They always pick the wrong horse. They have a way of always picking the wrong horse.”

I'm merely pointing out inconsistencies in the sudden rise of a 7-9 team..trading away 3 starters, losing Miller, adding no top draft talent, having a bad OL...and landing a QB that didn't make the playoffs last season...all while hiring a rookie staff that has never been in their respective positions before...and implementing a new system on both sides of the ball.

This is the new formula for building a sure-fire top 6 NFL team in a single off-season?..according to Vegas it is...

This smells like the 12-4 Raiders....
You way oversell the value of Lock, Harris and Fant.

Seriously... we know the league is all about QBs. So, if any teams are getting help from the NFL, it's those teams with the young gun QBs.

Chiefs, Bills, Bengals stand out as the top 3 that fit that bill. Surely the Jags are set for greatness at some point, yeah? I mean, why (of all teams) would the league have this boner for Denver? It makes no sense unless you're a tinfoil hat wearing kinda guy around here.

Harris is the only one I was disappointed to lose. Even he was mostly just a guy who was above average at tipping passes.

20-0. Broncos won’t lose again until Condi dies, which will occur in a few hundred years.

Fant has the same numbers as Jeudy...BUT Jeudy just hasn't developed because of QB play...gotcha.

Fant was the #2 rated TE in his draft and the Donks spent a #1 pick on him.

You had to spend a 2022 3rd round pick to replace him...so that's another sunken draft pick that doesn't get talked about.

Lock was at least a backup...who is the Donks backup now? There is a pretty decent chance he'll see some snaps...your QB has been hurt every year since 2015.

Losing three starters is substantial...just from a depth perspective. 7-9 teams usually are not a deep roster.

Harris was a quality starter...He had 7 sacks last year...the guy you signed, Jones, had 2.

They wanted the Raiders to appear good enough to sell the Vegas politicians/public on the move...Carr breaking his leg derailed the sham.

Deal went though anyway and the Raiders promptly went back to sucking the next year. Quite a spectacular fall from grace...the 2016/2017 rosters were essentially the same...what possibly could have changed? *Belch*

2015 7-9 (universal off-season hype begins out of nowhere)
2016 12-4 (Vegas moved announced)
2017 6-10
2018 4-12

Is Brady a young gun?

I liked Fant, but he wasn't irreplaceable.

Jeudy and Hamler also had the unfortunate luck of being rookie WRs thrown into the fire their first year with Sutton missing the entire season. Jeudy led the team in receiving yards that painful year when Lock played in 13 games.

Last season, Sutton is back and Jeudy gets hurt in the second half of the first game and misses the next 6 games.

Rains it pours.

Edit .. in 2021, Jeudy (5 starts) did have more receiving yards than MVS (8 starts) and JuJu (5 starts). So, at least he's got that going for him.

Fant is absolutely replaceable. Compared to Albert O, he had about twice the targets, twice the receptions, twice the yards, twice the TDs. He really didn't perform any better, he just had more opportunities.

Hopefully Jeudy continues to explore and discover the usage of his fingers. He had an absolutely abysmal 46% catch rate in 2020 (200th of 202 in the NFL), but managed to bump that up to a respectable 67.9% in 2021, which is only 0.3% behind Lockett, who many here have told me is responsible for Wilson's success.
