Nzoner's Game Room>NFL never intended to enforce PI challenges...
BlackOp 01:03 AM 10-15-2019
The only reason this rule even came into existence was because of the Rams/Saints game.

The tip is...Goodell wanted a LA team in the SB at all costs. When it looked that wasn't going to happen...the officials did what they had been instructed to do.

It turned into the most glaring, overt ****ed-up play in NFCCG history.

LA in the SB wasn't an accident...and I said this before last year even began.

This PI challenge is only damage control to make it appear that NFL didn't get exactly what it wanted.

They have literally made it impossible to win a PI challenge. Next season...the competition committee will say "we tried but it just didn't work out".

This is absolute horseshit...it would work perfectly if they followed the rule book. They never had any intention of ever following the rule book...PI is a critical component of how they control point spreads and dictate outcomes.

This rule change is failing because they want it to...and they will have their mouthpieces, in unison, agreeing that it was a bad idea. Watch...

It's actually detrimental to even attempt to challenge a PI...they arent going to overturn anything and it costs a TO + a challenge.

What a joke...Goodell has destroyed the NFL. It's unwatchable.

A lot of people called that. It wasn't that big of a stretch matchup. But like I said...what happened to the agenda this year? The NFLs agenda was for the Rams to make it to the Superbowl, only score 3 points and be mediocre the next season (not even mentioning how bad the chargers look)? That seems like a real short sighted pointless agenda.

And why won't he call this years matchup? What about you? What teams do you see the NFL rigging to go/win the Superbowl?

It established the Rams in SoCal, between the MNF 'classic' with the Chiefs and going to the SB, the Rams now have a stronger fan base in SoCal and those luxury boxes/season ticket sales soared. Compare that to the Chargers, who literally had more Steelers fans in their "home stadium" last Sunday...

It accomplished what they wanted. You're being short-sighted by not seeing that...and the Rams straight sucked in the Super Bowl, and they suck this year. To win the Super Bowl, you need to not suck. What was it, 10-3? Score a ****ing touchdown, LA. I dare ya.

Hell, they sucked in the second half of the NFCCG last year, and if it hadn't have been for the blatant disregard of what was an obvious DPI, they wouldn't have been in the ****ing Super Bowl. I know you don't understand that, but that's why you're an idiot.

Who knows what the narrative is this year? I figured it would be Chiefs/Saints this year, that they were ready to crown Mahomes...but this team currently isn't good enough to make it past the wild card round - there's only so many calls that they can make to help out when you suck. Sooner or later, sucking in any phase will come back to bite you in the postseason. (See : Rams, LA vs Patriots in the SB)

You dumbasses think this is all rigged and yet you STILL tune in. It’s Stockholm syndrome. Quit watching if you believe it’s rigged.

Some of you guys bleeding all over the thread about this are nothing but whiners.

Seriously. If. You. Think. This. League. Is. Rigged. Then. Stop. Watching.

I'm pretty sure fans of the WWE are aware that it's rigged.

Only the true marks think any semblance of it is real.

So the Rams sucked, but the league saw to it that they got the calls they needed to get to the Super Bowl.

But the Chiefs suck so bad that the league won't give them the same treatment? Even though our offense is arguably better than anything the Rams fielded? :-)

Our run defense is historically bad.

Amazing that not even any of the Vermeil era defenses accomplished this feat... yikes.

Probably mainly because people don't want to believe it is.. I know I don't. It's a cognitive dissonance thing and I'm willing to admit that. Also, as may be the case with many, football is something that people bond over. My Dad and I, for example, have bonded over football and the Chiefs since I was young. Its hard to just forget all that and walk away from it. Like a person who is abused has a tendency to go back to their abuser, or a drug addict keeps going back to their drug of choice. Its harder than it seems to quit it. Maybe those are extreme examples, and I don't have a psychology degree or anything, but I would have to assume there something to that.

But to me, its a good indicator that things seem particularly effed up right now when my Dad, who has always dismissed any of the 'rigged' talk if I ever bring it up, is even starting to question things. He is a former youth/high school level coach and current high school official and I know he would hate to believe that NFL officials intentionally steer games.

You are so, so confused.

"It's fake!"

"Yeah but look at our rushing stats, that's why we're not picked by the NFL!"

I mean....just...w/e.
