Nzoner's Game Room>2019 Free agency Thread
O.city 03:24 PM 02-05-2019
We don't really have one of these yet, so figured we could use this as a place to discuss potential free agent acquisitions and what we would like to look for them to bring in.

If any of you guys are interested, heres a good place to do some research.

I’d love to pair Nasir Adderley with Landon Collins myself

i think packers fans might become suicidal when we sign Lando

They’re acting like he’s gonna be their savior and they don’t even realize their team is cheap :-)

Earl.

I can find a SS easier than I can find a centerfielder like him.

Theoretically.

That would be a very bad trade for the Chiefs.

So basically they will be giving away the majority of our pass rush from last year- for nothing. Nothing for Houston and a pitiful 3rd rounder for Ford. Not a good way to fix the defense. I guess you don't need a pass rush in Spags system.
Or they don't value Ford the way people here do. Imagine that.

I’d like that too, but I’m looking at this safety market and honestly think that if you wanna end up with the most complete possible roster after the draft, you get two safeties now and cross that off of your needs

Thomas now has an injury history and age is too high.

If I'm paying a big contract, it's to the younger, healthier player.

Right...

And that’s why I don’t really ever get pissed at big contracts. I just want my team to try. In all sports, spend your fucking money and make an effort to win. At least it’s fun that way.

Why?

There's a ton of good safeties in the draft. They still need a FA veteran CB. They can't go into the season with nothing but draft picks back there.

Really whatever you want.
Im a big believer of taking DL and CB in every draft first or second day. Can never have enough quality and depth at those two spots....

The box safety coming off shoulder surgery is healthier?

Landon Collins for 5 yrs/$52.5M

Which do you want??
Collins.

I don't want Thomas. You would essentially be giving away Ford and replacing with an aging Saftey with injury issues.

If they really only see him as a situation pass rusher in this defense, you take whatever you can get. And hopefully that’s a 2nd round pick.

But you can’t pay $15.5M for a guy who isn’t gonna play every down.

Than a 30-year old who has broken the same leg, in the same place, twice? Yep.

Broken bones once surgically fixed are a little different than a shoulder though.

We'll see I guess.
