Nzoner's Game Room>2019 Free agency Thread
O.city 03:24 PM 02-05-2019
We don't really have one of these yet, so figured we could use this as a place to discuss potential free agent acquisitions and what we would like to look for them to bring in.

If any of you guys are interested, heres a good place to do some research.

Sorry, with the release of Eric Berry. Assumed that was a given at this point. I know it's not set in stone, but in many of our minds it's something that should be a forgone conclusion post June 1st.

There's going to be equal CB talent at the end of the 2nd round. This CB class is deep in 2nd-tier guys with very little top-end talent. S is the prime position to look at at 29.

All of the speculation in the media and hints coming from the Chiefs suggest Berry will be back.

Fuck no. Psychopath agitator. Major locker room disaster.

Completely disagree. Corner is the higher paid of the two positions. Get the best you can in the first round and you have locked a premium position on a rookie contract for 4 years with an option for five.

Pigeonholing yourself into a position is how you end up with Tyson Jackson.

Take the best player there to be taken.

The point is you can get just as a good a CB in the 2nd as the 1st in this draft. There is not likely to be a CB at 29 that is head and shoulders better than the CBs available at the end of the 2nd.

That same is simply not true of S or LB, both of whom have more separation between the top prospects and the next tier.

Exactly. Maximize your pick value.

Winners as tags rain down on pass rushers ...

• Trey Flowers, Patriots
• Ziggy Ansah, Lions
• Preston Smith, Redskins
• Za'Darius Smith, Ravens
• Dante Fowler, Rams

Teams saved $$$ for pass-rush help. And the best looking girls left the bar. But guess who's still there?

There are your best pass rush options if you let Ford walk to sign another rusher.

Lotta meh there for what they'll cost.

And all of the sure thing immediate impact guys in the draft will be gone by 29.

It’s completely unrealistic to think we can get significantly better losing both Houston and Ford.

Pretty much.

I'd like to have Preston Smith but damn those dudes are getting paid.

Ezekiel Ansah's career looks a lot like Ford's and his 2019 cap number could be finagled to probably HALF of what Ford's will be. Just saying.

Big news for a player who is expected to be a major target for the chiefs https://t.co/MpP30jHlKS
